You can get married after your landing i think because at the time of your landing if your file was submitted as single and you are married.. It is a problem. But once you landed i think you can get married.

Guys....whatever happens...I hope CIC completes ALL of Feb application before 1-Jan-2015 (start off date of the Express Entry system).
The more I read about this Express Entry system the more I confess how lucky we all are to even have our applications already in in the hands of CIC. The details of this new system isn't comforting.

Could you give a brief explanation/why you're not comfortable? I never knew about this until you just posted. I'm curious.

From my understanding, the occupation that will be eligible is not as wide as what the PNP or even CEC is offering now. Another is that all the applications from the eligible occupations will be placed in a Job bank along with the rest of the applicants and it is where the prospective employers will choose. So it's unlike a normal PR application that whether you have or don't have a job offer , your application will be processed in due time.

As usual, CIC is promising a completion period of 6months or less. Come-on...are they kidding.

How Will the Program Work?
Under Canada's Express Entry system, after an application is received it will be entered into a pool or database of candidates for review or selection by an interested “selector.” The Express Entry Process can be divided into 5 steps:

First, all potential candidates will create an Express Entry profile using an online platform that identifies their skills and qualifications, taking the form of an online resume. All Express Entry profiles will be ranked against the other applicants in the system based on a variety of factors, including their language proficiency in English and/or French, their education, their Canadian work experience (if applicable), and other factors that indicate the candidate will be successful in Canada.
Applicants to the program without a job offer from a Canadian employer will be required to register with the newly upgraded Canada Job Bank. The Job Bank is a platform where individuals can post their credentials and Canadian employers seeking workers can search for an applicant who meets the requirements of their position in order to offer them a job.
After each profile in the system has been assessed, the candidates who meet the criteria of a federal economic program will be placed in the pool of candidates for Express Entry.
If their application is selected by an employer through the Job Bank, the applicant will be issued an "Invitation to Apply," and will have 60 days to apply for permanent residence.
The successful candidate will then apply for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker program (FSW), the Federal Skilled Trade program (FST), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), or through a Provincial Nomination Program (PNP). After being offered an invitation to apply applicants will still be required to meet the criteria of the program they are applying under. The entire process of applying for permanent residence will be online.
After an individual has recieved an Invitation to Apply (ITA), Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has committed to processing these applications in six months or less.

even before that 6months,

if you are ranked lower somehow (maybe really competitive applicants applied it around same time?), there will be unlimited time of waiting for to be in that line of ITA lol I think this is stupid. If they can be so sure they can process the application within 6months, why don't they just do it in current system? :P

I agree with you. I don't see any sense or efficiency being introduced here. And like one immigration expert asked in another forum "which employer in Canada will potentially give an offer letter to a candidate according to the new process and then fold their arms and wait for 6months for the foreign candidate to finish with cic so as to land in Canada to resume work?"
CIC keeps shifting the goal post in the search for efficiency....but they are simply making the PR process more complex.
Never thought that nearly 10months of submitting application in-country....no Feb applicant is in DM yet! :o :o :o

I agree, why don't they focus on clearing the backlog of PNP applicants (of which they used to claim to have the fastest processing times out of all the streams) instead of complicating their workload and introducing a brand new stream which would slow down the processing times for the other streams? Unless CIC is conducting a mass hiring of new employees to cope with the new wave of applicants for EE, I think we are going to look at longer processing times all over.

maybe this new immigration system "express entry" is only for the super qualified individuals.
Another way of cutting down immigration and making it harder for people to apply.

Very correct.....Every sign and symptom is pointing to that.
