it's the request to pay the right of permanent residency fee that is required to pay for the process. since it's not required to pay up front, some people will get a request for payment from the visa office in order for their file to process.mrschula said:What is a RPRF Request?
But it's fine to wait? I can pay it now, but it won't move things along any faster will it?MizAngel said:$490
You don't have to wait til they request it to pay it, but we weren't able to pay it until now which is why they had to request it from us.
Paying now won't prompt them to work on your file, but when they do open it, having it paid will make it go quicker since they won't have to request it.mrschula said:But it's fine to wait? I can pay it now, but it won't move things along any faster will it?
Thanks! Well then of course it is worth it to pay it now. Do you know how? I can just call them tomorrow and ask I guess..Zarilenth said:Paying now won't prompt them to work on your file, but when they do open it, having it paid will make it go quicker since they won't have to request it.

So nice to see that February applicants are getting PPR and confirmation of Permanent Residence....
It feels close..... maybe in one week or two my wife will get her PPR.... Praying for it.....
What I would do is pay it (online if you want) and then mail/fax the proof of payment receipt to your visa office along with your UCI/File Number/Name/Date of Birth so they can match it to your file.mrschula said:Thanks! I was going to, but steler hasn't been around to give me editing rights so I think I need to make a new one maybe.MizAngel said:Can I get added to the spreadsheet please? (If someone is still around to edit it )
Hi, I spoke with CIC today and they told me that the best option is paying that fee at the time the application is submitted. Since I didn't do that, they said paying it now will only slow down the application process because it adds an extra step (something they don't require at that time) and more processing. The rep I spoke to told me that a few years ago paying upon request would add an additional 4-8 weeks to the processing time, but nowadays it actually won't slow it down much at all. So I am going to wait until they request it. He also told me that although the average processing time from Cuba is 9 months, my application could go through quicker (7-8 months) due to the simplicity of it (no previous marriages, no dependents, no criminal records...)Zarilenth said:What I would do is pay it (online if you want) and then mail/fax the proof of payment receipt to your visa office along with your UCI/File Number/Name/Date of Birth so they can match it to your file.

Mississauga by Mid February, So, I think my wife will get her passport request before the end of the week...
or if not by next week... providing that they don't ask for interview....
every application is different . They might have opened their files and things like background checks etc are unique , some may take sometime to get them done and so they move on to the next application I guessAwesomeg said:Good for March applicants...
