For applicants whose visa office will be CPP-Ottawa after your sponsorship is approved (most US applicants): If you'd like to be added to the CPP-Ottawa spreadsheet, please feel free to send me a message and I'll add you to the spreadsheet. The link to the Ottawa spreadsheet is in my signature. Good luck!
Thanks Ivan, I wlil keep that in mind. I hope I will be joining you sooner than later. :D

Haha same here, they've had my application for 9 days now and I keep checking my email (inbox and spam, haha) every day at least twice LOL.
I made couple of silly mistakes in the application so it's most likely going to be returned and I have to start from square one.. I'm trying to be positive but we all know how strict they're rules are! ???

Little mistakes like this..
-In one of the applications I put Mississauga as preferred visa office instead of London or Sydney! (No idea why, guess I didn't read the instructions properly before answering the questions, haha :D )
-Have u ever beed refused a visa? I put no even tho my IEC visa got refused June last year.. (I applied under the wrong category so It got denied)
-I also had only one of the support letters notarized
I'm sure I made more mistakes that I just don't know about yet

So yeah this is why i'm seriously worried

SO I FINALLY mailed my pacakge to my wife yesterday. I had sent her another package the week before via standard first class mail and it got to her in exactly a week. I am hoping that since I sent this one priority mail that it will get there faster. Fingers crossed!!

I have a question on the packet. My attorney put the packet together and mailed it to me. He had one packet that was put neatly in order with all of the information (he put scanned images of all originals in this packet) but then he had a seperate envelope with all original documents (printed proof/ flight tickets/ notarized documents, government issued bc's and clearances, etc.) I included both envelopes to send to CIC. Do they return any original documents when the process is complete?? I made a point of getting 2 copies of everything when I ordered stuff but it would be nice to have some of those originals back just for backup purposes.

Also, I still have 2 things to send in at a later date. I am applying for our marriage certificate this week (we had to wait 12 weeks from the date of marriage to order them). I also have to take my 15 year old non-accompanying daughter for her medicals on April 1st so I will have to send them the receipt as soon as that is done. Does anyone know where to send extra documents after the packet has been submitted already? Will this slow down the process? I sent a copy of the marriage license or whatever it is called, that we signed the day we got married. It has the official license number on it. I just printed a note on it saying we are applying for the license next week and will send it as soon as we have it. I was also told that I could send the packet without my daughter's medicals since she is an unaccompanying minor. Unfortuantely, she lives 10 hours away and between school and other commitments, the first time I can get her here to complete the medicals is over spring break the first week in April. I am hoping this won't slow down the process.

I know most of us are new to this but I know some great people follow up on threads occassionally and may have input (Sweden, you are awesome!!)

Goof job on mailing it! Is it all sent to mississauga now then??

As for your questions I'm.not sure they needed two copies and I'm pretty sure they don't return originals. You could contact them and request it but it might slow things down and or annoy them a little. Best to just wait now.

As for those 2 things so long as you included a note explaining everything it should be fine. Just sit back and wait now. :)

If you eventually got the iec visa it should be ok. I think. As ffor the other things I've read some people got no letters notarized! I guess it depends on the io!

thanks for the compliment! :)
To send additional information: wait until you have a file number. You will get either an AOR or directly sponsor approval, with a file number and a UCI. Once you have that, they will transfer your file to a Visa office ( and the location will be specified there). best is to wait until you complete stage 1 and send the additional info after that - if you send anything without a file number, it will most likely get lost. And since there is no "typical time" between AOR and approval, (could be 3h, or 10 days!), you don't want to send anything to Mississauga as they might transfer your file to the VO before your papers get there.
Originals - some VO return them, and you can always ask for them but it's more an exception than the rule - I didn't get anything back.
Good luck,
Sweden

No I didn't get it! The thing is that Finnish citizens don't get IEC visas, so I emailed Immigration and asked if there's any other IEC kind of visa I could apply for and I got told to apply for IEC for Swedish citizens, apparently they give us 30 of their visas per year! Unfortunately they stopped giving IEC's to finnish people about a week after I applied, so hence the refusal :(

What should I do, just wait and hope for the best or contact Immigration even tho I don't have my file number or anything like that yet?

Thanks guys

Well don contact them until you get a file number as it'll confuse everything.

But I'm not really sure you have to? You'll have to ask others. I got refused a work visa extension cos I wasn't aware I wasn't eligible but km not sure if iec is different...

Btw, Gary, in the spreadsheet it says already in Canada on my timeline. My husband is actually not in Canada yet. If you could please update it for me.

Thanks!
