Hey guys

Basically I clarified and it wasn't an IELTS issue but a Birth Certificate issue. Apperently they just send a random template which includes your IELTS and other information but the primary thing Highlighted on my check list was the Birth Certificate by whoever was checking for the documents.

They said that they didn't accept the birth certificate from the Hospital and want a Government issued birth certificate. The bad news is that back in 1984 governments didn't issue birth certificates where i am from but the good news is that CIC said they will accept National Identity cards. So i had to got that translated by a translator who is a member of ATIO, got an affidavit and re-sent my documents again.

-- Now the wierd thing is that Last year when i applied for my CEC Permenant residency it went past sydney and went to Ottawa without any problems. Anyways i have re-sent my documents so lets see.. I will now have to post in the March thread lol..

Hi bold9k,

There are some other threads on the forum addressing the lack of a government issued birth certificate. What some other applicants have done instead is send a notarized affidavit signed by their parents, certifying their birth. When I sent in my application, I had a somewhat similar problem, except that it was my name that was spelled wrongly on my original birth certificate, so I sent along an affidavit with that.

Having said that, I haven't received my AOR yet. My application was received on Feb 12.

Thanks guys!

Yea, I couldnt include the T4/NOA, since it was my first year in CA and my employer has over 2,000 to issue, so they give them out the very last minute. Included a detailed explanation of circumstances in the letter.

I'm just waiting for my ecas to be updated and then I will forward the T4 to CPP-O.

Can anyone share the e-mail you receive the AOR from? I want to make sure I don't lost their e-mail by adding them to my address book.

Congrats! Pls update the excel tracker. By the way what is the concern about birth certificates??
Hi,
That was related to nonavailability of DOB from municipality/govt. office of my country. However, I added - (i) self-affidavit from notary office in Canada, (ii) affidavit from my parents in my country, and (iii) HSC certificate where my father name is written.
They accepted those document.
Thanks to all senior members of this forum for their valuable inputs regarding this issue.
Hope it will also help all applicants without any DOB.

DOB certificate from embassy especially Indian embassy is not acceptable, please refer previous post in forum. Visa office processing the application should be CPP-O (Ottawa)

Thats very sad rajcares4u... :(
If the DOB certificate was issued by toronto visa office based on the info on your passport, yeah they are not accepting it... There are several threads in this forum related to this issue. You will sure get some suggestions there.

Office for processing: CPP-Ottawa

Not really sure what made you go with Certificate of Date of Birth issued by CGI as the evidence. It is definitely not acceptable by CIC.
CIC only accepts the following as an evidence
- Government issued Birth Certificate OR
- School certificate giving your full name, DOB and your parents full name (either father/mother or both OR
- An affidavit

Even my DOB certificate and PCC is from Indian Embassy Vancouver. Havent heard anything from CIC yet. Worried if they will send back my application too. But some of my friends who applied last year with the certificates from Indian Embassy Vancouver were not returned.

Applied received by CIC on Feb 7 2013

I understand that CGI DOB Certificate was accepted earlier but not anymore. There are many applicants who got their AOR submitting the Certificate of DOB issued by CGI. But were later asked by CIC to submit evidence of DOB (one of the above 3).

If you are very lucky, the VO dealing with your case might accept the Certificate. But chances are bleak.

Andy2109: thanks

will wait for the response from CIC. In the mean time I will apply for the BC and PCC from India. Any idea how long it will take for the PCC in Hyderabad-India

I went to VFS and got a PCC and DOB from them they mailed me the two certificates, is that PCC VALID OR SHOULD I GET ONE FROM INDIA? AND AS WELL CAN ANYONE SUGGEST HOW ABOUT DOB???? I have my secondary certificate will they accept it for DOB reference?

PCC issued by VFS is very much valid since it is issued by CGI and VFS is just a facilitator for the app. Your sec school certificate is valid as a DOB proof provided it has your full name along with one of yours parents full name.
