My case is very straight forward.. well I thought it was lol.. first marriage for both, arranged marraige, everyone attended, same religion/caste, similar education background, he's one year older.. I spoke with my MP a few weeks ago, they said its too early for them to help, since its only been 3 months from approval.. I ordered GSCM notes as well, should get those maybe next week. I'm starting to think I won't hear anything until Nov/Dec.. closer to when medicals are expired.

Wao, i am not sure how NDVO follow there files as some of the applicants that got AOR in JUNE got approva whereas u got AOR in may and still waiting....
Thats one thing i dnt like about NDVO...keep surprising everyone...

It is very unpredictable, there really is no clear pattern as how they select cases that they work on. I hope they pick up the speed at VO's so everyone hears something soon.

Hey Indiagal,

to answer a few of your questions: file transfer is when the sponsor has been approved, then the file is transferred to the VO - in your case New delhi, and the file was transferred when the sponsorship was approved. If you got an email requesting your passport, then you know for sure your file has arrived, has been opened, and they are working on it. So don't worry too much about it, it's still early to have an answer... average time for New Delhi is 8 months, even if lots of applicants get a decision before that.

If you think that your file is taking too long, you can contact your MP - here is the list of MP ( member of parliament) and their constituency. Your husband can check which one corresponds to where he lives, and contact the MP to ask for more information. However, if you are within the "normal time frame", maybe your MP will not want to contact the VO as the time has not passed yet.

Ordering notes - that's if you want to order the notes that CIC has made on your file. It takes about a month to get them, they are called GCSM notes, and you can see a bit what has been assessed already in your file and what the VO has written about it.

Age difference - it is not necessarily a problem, and I don't think that 3,5 years should be a bit issue, especially if you have provided lots of proofs.

Don't think about it too much ( easier said than done, I know!), it's a bit early in the process to worry, you are within the normal waiting time, so there is not much to do about it apart from waiting...

Good luck with your application,
Sweden

Its to bad my wife is not from India ..she would be in canada by now...its seems people from India get visa in half the time the rest of the world does

No kidding Jordan2110! My husband and I say that all the time. We applied in March and got sponsorship approval in May. If he was from India, he would probably have landed a month or so ago. I wrote Minister Kenney a letter about it about 3 weeks ago, still no reply. The U.S. is our closest ally and my husband is visa-exempt..you'd think it would be just as fast as the India offices...but no. Looking on the buffalo spreadsheet, it seems that only 3-4 people from the U.S. have gotten PR approval THIS YEAR!! It's bloody August already!! I also wrote my MP about it and he said that somebody from the Minister's office will look into it and get back to me...ya right, like that will happen! Spousal applications have the highest priority so they claim, so why is nobody from the U.S., aside from 3-4 people not being processed past 1st stage approval? They stopped the parent/grandparent applications and got rid of that huge backlog of applications...so what are they working on?? Mostly everybody from January, February and March have gotten sponsorship approval...so what the H3ll is Ottawa doing?
