Thanks! I did mention it before but noticed it wasn't on the spreadsheet! I just realised I put July 16th for DM, it was definitely July 13th lol

Hi, I didn't set up a column in the spreadsheet for DM (mostly because the inner pessimist says the decision could theoretically be approval or denial...) but let us know when you get your COPR with the issue date and I'll add that to the spreadsheet (I shall silence the inner pessimist for a sec and assume that it's when and not if ;)). Hope you get your hands on it soon!

haha you sound like my husband! He is refusing to get excited about it until it's arrived! I see that logic since DM came much sooner than imagined but I can't see how they could deny us! Finger's crossed anyways!

DM = Decision made
COPR = Confirmation of Permanent Residence - this is the document you get when you're approved (in addition to the visa in your passport if you're not from a visa-exempt country)

So what kind of visa is put in the passport that Americans, for example, don't need? I thought the PR was a visa. I've seen the visa, we have it. Is it a visitors visa just to get in to the country while you wait for your PR?

the PR is a visa of sorts a permanent one providing you undertake and adhere to conditions laid out in the visa and after consultation with an immigration official. A visitors visa is just that a visa that allows you to visit for a maximum set period of time (usually 6 months)

There should be nothing put in your passport if you are visa exempt except the stamp of the country you are visiting. Countries that are not exempt have the visa (slip of paper) stapled tot heir passport. I used to get this up until around a year ago. I am sure Britain became visa exempt about a year ago, as far as I am aware Canada relaxed the law on EU citizens entering the country.

Ok then what kind of visa is it that is put in the passport?

If you are not visa exempt then you will have the TRV visa attached in to your passport. If you are visa exempt nothing will be attached only a stamp.
