Hi just got my AOR today and it says my application was received 17th feb. I am just happy because this shows that they have touched my file not sure they have opened it yet. Feb applicants we are next. Have a UCI number and Application number now ;D ;D ;D ;D
So is that AOR or approval? Do you get a UCI and application number with an AOR - before approval?

Oh ok. Lucky you got an AOR!

Hello everyone it's a pleasure to find this topic, because I'm tired of freaking out alone about the processing

Here's my story:
My fiancee applied for me under conjugal partner on Feb. 16th 2012, in Quebec. We've been together since Sept 2010, I met him while I was visiting Canada. After my TRV expired I was suppose to return to Canada in a few months, but the surprise was my TRV applications were refused every time (I had 3 invitations from my boyfriend, my uncle, my grandmother in June, July and August). The mistake was mine because I only had 1 month at my new workplace after months of unemployment since I was in Canada for the winter. We realized that was not an option anymore so we decided to apply for my residency. Meanwhile he came to visit me in Oct 2011 and April 2012.
Now we are waiting for the sponsor approval, but so far he didn't receive any confirmation that they have the application. Maybe with a little bit of luck they will process it in a week or two. And maybe with a lot more luck they won't deny my application because we were too lazy to plan a wedding here while he was visiting me.
I'm confused about the steps to follow for Quebec: After receiving the sponsor approval, does the processing time for my application start (the times from Step 2) or first I have to wait for the CSQ and only after they will send it to the visa office here?

Thank you and Good Luck to everyone!

Yasmine

I noticed I was deleted a while ago (few days) but I did not care I believe CanadianGirl78 was deleted recently. Anyway, it is ok. Thanks Deficient, it was OK to have it open but it seems we have some kids.

i think it's better if u'll have the table locked....on Damascus thread last summer they had a super nice excel table with 100+ lines (members since the beginning of 2010) with all the details, very useful for future applicants as well....and suddenly in one day almost the whole table was deleted, even columns, it was a mess.....the owner manage to revert it to an old version but then next day the very same thing happenned like that person clearly wanted to frustrate the others badly....nobody knows who was doing it, if it was a member or just someone who has nothing to do with this process but has nothing better to do with his time.....but my point is as long as we r on a public forum, anyone can read and mess up other people's work unfortunately...so it's better to have it locked and have shared ownership within a few members :) good luck!!

i can answer u that (partially) if noone else here minds ;) so when u'll get the sponsor approval email or letter u will also see confirmation that ur file was transfered to ur specific VO and that being a future resident of Quebec u will need to apply for CSQ....(u can already fill in the CSQ forms and have them handy; in the moment u get the sponsor approval, u could send next day)...when u get the CSQ, they will also tell u that a copy of it was forwarded to the concerning VO but it was not all the time the case so to make sure u can also send a copy urself to the VO (scan attached to an email will do, u need the original!!!) and ask them to confirm they got it....now some VO's will wait for the CSQ to start the process some will start it even before they get ur CSQ....it depends from embassy to embassy...but even if they wait, the CSQ processing time is around 3 weeks - they probably wouldn't even open ur file in such a short time....the VO processing time starts on the moment u get the sponsor approval, maaaaaaaybe + 3-4 weeks....keep in mind that in most of that processing time ur file actually sits untouched in a queue, that's why i don't think the extra step for CSQ processing actually causes any delay....by the time they look at ur file, the CSQ might b attached to it too....hope it was clear....good luck!! :)

Hello, thought i'd have a look i here, see if anyone else had approval yet? ;) I can't believe somone deleted from your spreadsheet. ::)

Even though the website says Feb 1st, it looks like the remainder of Jan applicants are hearing about their applications. I might just be thinking negatively, but have a feeling the website won't really change dates this week. :S

what date did u send your application ?cause i send mine feb 10 i dont know till now i dont have any responce

Thank you, missmini :-* ! I had no idea it takes only a few weeks! Someone told me it can take up to 100 days and I thought it would delay the processing even more.
I noticed most of you had your med's done before sending the application. I haven't done them yet, I thought I need first a file number. Only now I read on the official page that for family class I need to take the med exam before sending the application :-[ Can I take them anytime and they will send it / I send it to the visa office before they receive my file or should I wait for my application to be sent here after the sponsor approval?
Anyone else did this wrong like me :-[ ?

I am very very very sorry if my questions are redundant here but I'm still learning this forum but when I see 100+ pages for threads I don't know where to start from

The site is confusing I am sure if you are applying for a spouse from outside Cananda you will have to take the medical exam and send a proof (MDP knows) you took it with your application
