many wifes sent their husbands to get false married on paper to a Canadian, then divorce her, then remarry the previous wife and bring her in. that take years. they gotta be pretty patient to pull off such a malicious scheme. I wonder if the first wife is so trusting no sex will happen. Some people have 3 kids and they did that.
What brings people to do such things?

I suppose having a crappy life in a difficult country.

Last time I saw my wife was 1.5 years ago.
And people complain about 1 month...

All of a sudden I feel we have the worst of it. :| WTF!

TS, 1.5 years is a really really long time and I feel for you. But I didn't mean to start a "whose wait is longer" thing. My point was that no one should be separated from their families for visa reasons. As for us, if it was a month, it wouldn't be that unbearable. But keep in mind that we just submitted our case, and nothing is certain when it comes to CIC. So we really don't know when we will be together again. He is not from a visa-exempt country, so he can't come here (we will try for TRV later- fingers crossed) but basically our only chances of seeing each other is when and if I can travel to visit him. Not a pretty prospect.
We are all in the same boat, we all miss our partners, and we are all going through the stress of increasing wait times. I don't think it's appropriate to downplay someone else's hardships.

there is no other option, they have a yearly quota and they filled if for this year, better you have sent it and got in line for next year.

the only crappy life I imagine worse than waiting for your husband is that if you lived in a Syrian village right now and expected someone to come over and kill you anytime like what is happening now to those poor people. Anything else is easy.

Just because one situation is awful, it doesn't mean everything else is easy. And I wasn't talking about being separated from a spouse. I was talking about why people go to such extreme lengths to get to Canada.

For the pancakes and maple syrup, of course. Speaking of which, I think I will have them for breakfast for the first few years!! :P

I was thinking you had sent it to Alberta incorrectly. Sorry about this. You'll probably have to start the wait again but who knows with CIC. Did they give you a file number or UCI?

Hey canadian girl. Yes. they gave us the UCI. however, i cannot login and check our online status...
