An immigration officer told us that being denied for a visa is a red flag but overall NOT a big deal. Getting denied for a visitor's visa is common especially when a spouse is in Canada and I have read of many people here getting their visas after being denied once or even more than once for a visitor's visa.

My greater concern is check-marking "refused entry into Canada" even though this never happened. For all I know they'll think she came to Canada anyway after being denied a visitor visa and that she was sent away at the border. Again, this never happened, yet we check-marked it did happen. What then??

I don't think I will hear from them very soon. I'm trying to enjoy the pregnancy and my babies' kicks. Also waiting for end of April when their father will come. I'm due in June and he can only stay here 3 months every 6 months, it's so frustrating. I'm also afraid the VO might not like that the PR sponsoring me is going to stay 3 months out of Canada... with me. That would be hilarious...

Question: I was asked to submit some info required and submitted this info last week (which I believe this is only thing they required), how long to they take to open or add this information to my file and start processing it again. I heard 60 days after receiving. Is this true?

Email them as soon as you send it and let them know you submitted, hopefully that way they will look at it earlier then the 60 days...

You don't need to worry about that. If you were in security checks, you would not be asked to redo the medical. You have already passed the security checks and are in the end stages. Your medical was probably refused only because it had been too long since the last one. I know it is hard to have another hoop to jump through but you are at the END.

It all depends. For sure it could be way faster than 60 days. There is no set number of days.

I did email them informing them that I have submitted the required info/docs via recorded delivery and I also asked for them to confirm receipt.

Waiting game starts again for me.

Update: VO emailed me and said that they have received the information I sent and I will be hearing from them in the near future. In terms of CIC VO definition - I wonder what is the meaning of the near future for them??? 2 wks, a month, 6 wks ......?????? ANy of you have experience with this near future business?

Thank you. I wont get my hopes high. I guess I will have to limit accessing my ecas thinking - it is today? Well been waiting over a year now, hopefully it wont be another 3months or more.

Congrats on the pregnancy... and the kicks!
I understand that you would want your husband with you with the baby etc, but 3 months is very risky. Most people advise 2 weeks, max 3 weeks outside of Canada for PRs. It's hard, but it's the rule. If CIC finds out, they are likely to deny your PR because your husband is outside of Canada... it clearly says on the website that PRs have to stay in Canada for the time of the process, short visits are allowed, but 3 months is not considered a short visit. So I'm not sure it's worth the risk - also because since you have applied already a while ago, your application is probably at the end of the process, which is good, but it also means that the Immigration Officer will probably be able to see that your husband is sponsoring you.
