Hi all,

questions,

I have received the approval letter that says my application has been forwarded to the visa office abroad (singapore).
It's been a month since I received the letter.
But when I check e-case, under " Permanent Residence Application Status" it only shows "application received" with a date of the application arriving at CIC-Mississauga, shouldn't it say application forwarded or something to that effect? is this normal?

yes this is normal......you may or may not get an aor from the VO.....it is the 2nd stage waiting game now!!!

is there a way then to find out if they recieved the application in the VO????

depends on your VO....mine does not accept phone calls or emails until it is passed the time posted on the CIC website....10 months.....so I can not contact them till then......although after 6 months I would start!!! :P

Good news: My CSQ has been processed and my husband has received it.

Bad news: They misspelled my ****ing name on it.

How is this possible!?!?!?!? It's the Canadian Government that we all trust to lead us! I'm so shocked they made a mistake! ........... NOT!

Are you saying they won't read my wife's e-mail about the wrong VO application until the estimate time (9 months) expires??

No!! Don't worry they accept communication before that time. But they'll ignore you for asking why you don't have your visa yet if it's been less than the predicted amount of time.

Your circumstance is way different TS.......I am talking just about general inquiries about your file....i.e. time frame, do they have it. I would think yours will be responded to very soon.

yaaaaay happy for the good news :D congrats

uuuuf shoot u need to have ur name corrected; i'm not sure if the vo can do much, they just see that the names don't match and they might wait for the csq with the correct name; u need to contact micc (calling them would b best) and they will just resend the paper with the correct name; then u will also send a copy of that to the vo with a letter explaining that this one has the name correct, the first one did not

u need to solve this don't wait for them to do it, a misspell in the csq can give u trouble after u land; good luck!! i'm sure it will just take a matter of days to have everything in order

(also congrats on sending the extra medical papers :) did they actually reply to u abt the extension or no?)

Yeah, my husband called already today but unfortunately the offices are closed for the Canada Day holiday so it's having to wait until tomorrow to be sorted out.

I figured when I get a corrected version I would send it to London just to be sure that the name discrepancy doesn't hold things up there.

Mu husband suggested that it might not matter later on but you can be sure if I hand over the incorrect CSQ for things like RAMQ and SAAQ they will totally ignore all of the thousand other items of correct identification I show them that have my name as Jayne and will instead register me for everything as Jeyne. You just know it.

But yeah, looks like someone at MICC has been reading too much Game of Thrones or something. Frickin Jeyne... is that even a name in the real world?

I got no reply about the medical deadline extension. I'm just going to keep my eyes peeled in ecas for "medical results received" and as soon as I see those words I'll request my GCMS notes to see what the verdict is on it all.

Deficient congRATS I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW LONG DID THEY TAKE FOR CSQ ONCE THEY TOOK THE MONEY CAN U PLZZ SHARE UR TIMELINE FOR CSQ

CUZ AM WAITING FOR CSQ TOOO
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Papers were mailed to MICC on June 15th and arrived there on June 18th.

Credit card was charged on June 21st.

The letter with the CSQ is dated June 27th - we don't know which day it physically arrived in the mail as my husband was here visiting me in the UK. He returned home to Montreal on July 1st to find it in his mailbox, so presumably it arrived June 28th or 29th (those being weekdays).

Hope that helps :)

Hi Deficient

My dates are about same as yours and same VO but my ECAS doesnt say they have recived my medical which was sent prior to my visa application arrived at the london office, you know if this is normal as i hear most people says medical recieved.

We sent our application in january. and the sponsor was approved april. and our application was sent to mexico city april 5.
and our ecase still doesnt not say anything about medicals either and they were sent before the application was.

so your not the only one. i know a couple people that there ecase still says nothing about medicals. i think some VO dont update as much as others.

I think mainly ecas is hopelessly inconsistent across applicants and not particularly reliable.

No news is good news as far as the medicals are concerned; if there was a problem with your medical you would most assuredly know about it by now. The medicals get reviewed really early in the game.

I'm just waiting for the text about the medical to appear in ecas as then I can take it as a signal that some sort of decision has been made about my case. You know what will happen though, it will never appear and I'll be fretting until the last moment over probably nothing.

The medical results received bit is probably a good sign that your app and medical have been matched up but I wouldn't necessarily take its absence to mean that they haven't been matched up. You've nothing to worry about, I'm sure.

I saw medicals received right away but for our 2010 app we never saw it at all. Ever. Even after decision was made.

I want to see "in process" on ecas so bad but I tell myself not to worry much about what ecas says. Others have gotten PPR and still see app received. It is hard though.

Unfortunately, the MP secretary I'll be dealing with is a stubborn old lady (sounds like in her 70s) who insists the "transfer" was intentional and not an error. :\
But she said she'll look into it anyway. :\

Doesn't really inspire confidence, does it? Kind of a let-down before the appointment even started. Some people eh... Trying to make you feel like your situation is unimportant and "everything" is as it should... while in the meantime some dirty rats from deep beneath the New Delhi Visa Office catacombs are eating away at a stowed-away application... my wife's application!

Canadian Pride!

And later, like 2 years later when the truth is out, she's gonna be like "oh you were right all along". Yeah, thanks. Like I didn't know that two goddam years ago!

And why exactly did she think they would send it to New Delhi on purpose?! Did you see her in person? Do you have a copy of your app where you can show that you put Manila? And maybe print something from CIC that explains where your app will be sent and why so you can prove it needs to go to Manila? Sheesh. Just hound these people and don't give up - they'll fix it just to get rid of you!
