I was on the phone with an arrogant guy but i'm using my sweet voice so I was hoping to get somewhere lol. He was checking and my file seems to still be in ottawa right now but what I can tell everybody is that if CIC is telling you your file is in Ottawa its in transit...they are not processing any Step 2 files just sending from there, they are to send them out to the appropriate Visa Office afterwards..... I'm not liking this one bit it's been 3 weeks how the heck is my file not in LA yet???? And then he says we do not have the same system as the Visa Offices so we cannot see what you might see on ECAS.....So ya not too thrilled right now

I would not worry. I don't think these guys have access to any info past the approval date. I got an AOR from Mexico less than 3 weeks after approval so they DO send them off the same day. Just wait to hear from your VO.

You are in Mexico.. all the files for the States are screwed up right now! They say on the approval letter that our file is sent to LA and you call they say still in ottawa than my friend Belinasha gets an in process...I'm jealous!

I know but they already chose a VO for you so I don't see why they wouldn't have mailed it already. I just don't think these agents know much.

The lady I spoke to put me on hold and called some other department to find out info on our file. She said that they are processing the applications in Ottawa, then will be transferring them to LA for them to issue the Visa, just like Buffalo used to do. It's CIC though and who knows what the agents will tell us. She asked me a bunch of questions about my file while she was verifying stuff on her screen and she seemed to go through everything with me. Maybe they can't see past the approval date, but they can call other departments to inquire about a file. She confirmed that our status is "in process" and right now, I'm gonna take her on her word.

CIC posted an update - no date changes this week..... so totally unacceptable......grrrrrr......

Ottawa sent a reply to my e-mail.

"Please note that your file is currently in New Delhi, India; please forward your e-mail to:", and they gave me the link to the new delhi general and case specific inquiry.

Thats it. No apologies (I didn't even think about that, but my wife pointed it out, and now I feel it too), no help, nothing. So I just forwarded that to the general "e"nquiry.

Of course, New Delhi didn't answer squat, even though I sent them something 1 day earlier than Ottawa. WTF!
Oh, and their "Immigration fax" was BROKEN, so I doubt they ever got my fax. I don't think it goes hand in hand with the mission fax, I think that's a totally different department.

Maybe because they finally know the mail won't reach the intended VO, what do you think... It might end up on another planet where aliens are "e"nquiring why they received an application in French and not Xalatookooloo.

Sorry TS. I can't believe it really is in India. They'll send it to Manila sooner than you expect. You'll hear something soon. They probably get a lot of emails so it takes a few days. They'll correct the error right when they realize what happened.
