hello,

just want to ask from you ideas regarding your application,i am being sponsored by my wife in Canada and i am here in Qatar working(iam from the Philippines) last december 19,2010 i sent my pr application to Abu Dhabi but untill now i still did not receive any ACKNOWLEDGEMENT RECEIPT from them i am little bet worried about my papers,i sent it by FEDEX here in QAtar.

hope to hear from you.

Hi...Application package should be sent to CPC-M for processing for the sponsorship approval (within 37 days). After a decision has been made CPC-M will send your sponsor a letter that a decision has been made in the sponsorship application. It includes in the letter the client ID # you will use to access your ecas. CPC-M will send the package to the visa office you choose to process the sponsored application. Philippine visa office takes 9 months or less than while Abhu Dhabi takes 27 months.

When the Passport is Requested (PPR) does that essentially mean the process is all but done for you? They only request the passport when they are ready to approve the PR, right?

Not necessarily. Some visa offices, like New Delhi, India and a number of other Asian offices request the passport at the beginning of processing, not at the end. So in those cases, PPR does not necessarily mean PR approval.

kewjoe...

not necessary...in some case they have called for interview after ppr request.......................so it is just one more step complete......until and unless u see shiny visa..nothing can be said..............there is no sequence of steps......

I am currently in Toronto visiting for a week with an outbound application...btw I told the officer I said I was visiting, then he asked who I said family, then he asked who I said wife. Then he asked who was moving where. I said me to Canada with outbound application. He asked where I work I said United states and just visiting for a week vacation and he let me through no secondary inspection.

Anyways I came here to say my tracker notified me that my medical results were received....I guess things are moving forward!

Hey 210045803,

I am kinda in your situation, I will be going over to Toronto to meet my wife, I also submitted my file in Feb. and got sponsorship approval and the file was transferred to Buffalo in early March, I was wondering if I should tell the VO I am going to meet my wife or not.

Would the VO know that my file has been sent to Buffalo and I have applied for Spousal PR? I work on H1B Visa in USA. btw you said your ecas shows medicals have been recvd? you are 2-3 days behind me so it should for me soon now

I would start out saying you are just visiting, then if they ask visiting who say family, then if he continues to ask yes I would recommend say wife. The reason why I would use this approach is you are not lying and you are also not giving way too much info out. The officer may just let you go once you say visiting so it is worth being vague. In my case the guy did press until I said wife. He didn't seem to care though that I was visiting. He did ask who is moving where I said I'm going to move to Canada and have outbound paperwork. He asked where I work I said in the states. I had a few of my last checks in case but I never had to show any proof it was all verbal and quick. I didn't even go to secondary. I flew porter air and there were only 3 officers who seemed to be all decent. I think on his screen he knows we have applied, but I am not sure as he didn't tell me what was on his screen. Perhaps he was testing me and already knew I applied already and since I told him he then figured i wasn't hiding anything. Anyways, never lie but you can be vague. Good luck! I was definitely nervous but it was one of the smoothest crossings I've had. Bring any proof of ties just in case

hello everyone I'm new in this forum and i love seeing a lot of positive results. I'm a February applicant also. My hub sent in our application last February 11 2011 and he received a DM last March 16 2011. I'm hoping that our application arrived in Manila already *fingers crossed* :'( waiting for an update can't wait, i hope it will be smooth and fast process.

good luck to us all and god bless!!
