Hello forum members

Hope all is well. Is there any connection between divorce and applying for citizenship. I have been divorced in 2011 and recently applied for citizenship.

Please share your valuable experience.

Thank you

Fellow Applicants of Feb 2015

I had the citizenship test scheduled for 09-Sep and I passed it with 20/20. YAY !!!! :) :)

Here is what I did to prepare for the test -

I read the book 4 - 5 times, prepared notes for years and historical personalities at the back of the book, memorized the names of current politicians from Ontario and in Federal Govt (In power and in Opposition both), capitals and regions. I completed online tests after each reading and attempted 100 questions. I started preparing for the 7 days before the test. On the day of test, I did not open the book or revised anything.

Test is not very hard but they twist the questions so read the questions very carefully.

After the test there was brief interview and document verification.

Today I checked the e-Cas and the status is changed to "Decision Made".

Very Happy after seeing this status. :) :) :) :) :)

I Wish best of luck to all those who are about to write the test and are waiting for the test dates.

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 26, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on April 21, 2015.
We started processing your application on June 17, 2015.
Your file was transferred to the office responsible for your area on June 22, 2015. The office responsible for your area will contact you.

Can anybody tell me how long usually it takes to call for a test?

Thanks

Sent in my application package for 1 adult and 2 minors today through Canada Post's Express Post. Thanks to advice from forum members, I hope to have put together a complete application package. Documents restricted to just what's been asked, though.

Special attention to signatures, matching dates and ALL passports used in the previous 4 years. Not to mention name on the back of the photographs. Common factors easily forgotten.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth sail.

Anybody else joining the list today?

Similar timelines as ours... What local office? Nothing much to do but wait... It should be abt time to get test invites ...
Good luck!!

Hi Feb applicants,

Just check online status and notice that they have entered the postal code wrong. Instead of S they have written V.

Is it matter. Do I need to call or change online. While changing online I notice that you have to write effective date of home change but in actual this is not home change it is just to change there typo.

Please advice

Hi Samreentariq,

When you had the interview and document verification after the test, was your permanent residency calculator checked?
Our invite letter said that we have to bring all supporting documents as listen on the citizenship application checklist. Our residency calculator was saved on our home computer however the computer completely broke down a week ago and we basically lost every documents. :( That means we won't be able to bring the residency calculator form with us. Will that be an issue?

Please advise.

Thank you!

Christine
