So...

Based on what the Jan 2015 crowd is now getting (AOR wise), we can now think about what the Feb 2015 can start anticipating our AOR's

The average is around 43 to 45 calendar days.
If we assume that the CIC Sydney only works a regular week (5 days) then we divide that average by 7 to get the number of weeks it took (6) and times that by 5.... we get the ubiquitous "30 business days".

So...right now, if your app gets to Nova Scotia on a certain day, just count 30 Business days, and then expect your AOR after that (assuming your app is "routine").

That means we here in the Feb 2015 group should start to expect AOR's starting at least March 11 (based on a Feb 2 received in Sydney on wards)

based from the info here, I fear our application may get sent back:

a. did not put our names at the back of the photos
b. I did not include my old, expired IELTS results that I used to apply for PR
c. I think that putting in the bio pages of our old passport, where the visa was originally put, was not necessary, now, I feel we should have.

though everything considered, we satisfy the requirements 1460 days with 7 day absence (to attend to the burial of my father) and my wife is a clean 1460 days. In addition, everything in the checklist has been satisfactorily met.

goodness...

a) Did you get the photos stamped by the photographer? That is all I had to do the stamp of the photographer and the date. Given they return applications fast nowadays mine has not been returned yet at least.
b) If it is old expired results I doubt it will have any bearing here then. What did you provide for the language requirements?
c) Did the old passport have anything stamped relevant for the four year period before application? If not you should be fine

Do not stress too much and sit back enjoy what life has to offer, you will get news soon enough on how things are going.

1. Yes, it was stamped, we got the photos taken from the Walmart photo studio, dated Feb 8, 2015 (app submission Feb 17)
2. Provided transcripts + letters from our schools indicating that the mode of instruction were primarily in English
3. No, the old passports only contained my sole 7 day trip out of the country - out of 1460 days

hgn,

Not sure how important it is to write the name on the back of the photos, but 2 and 3 are perfectly alright. 2) I also sent my PG degree and University letter for proof of language proficiency and 3) I did not send copy of bio page of passport on which my original visa is stamped. I sent only what pertains to the relevant 4 years. And that's what CIC asks for.

Don't worry, your application will be fine.

Give yourself about 5 to 7 days of buffer, also following keypoints might help you in preparation of your application:

- Application Form - Make sure you include postal codes for all Canadian and foreign addresses where you lived
- Don't leave any column empty, for any non applicable column put “N/A”

- Online Residence Calculator (Don't Forget to Sign - a very common mistake applicants do)

- Copy of Landing paper

- Copy of PR Card (Copy of Both Sides)

- Copy of Driving License (Copy of Both Sides)

- Copy of Health Card (Copy of Both Sides)

- Copy of Canadian degree - this is in addition to the transcripts you will provide

- Copy of Bio-metric Pages of Passport (old & new - if applicable)

- Copy of Language proof Transcript for Canadian Degree/ diploma or IELTS score card (whichever is applicable)

- 2 recent Photos (Don't Forget to put your name at the back - a very common mistake applicants do, also make sure that photographer stamps it)
Get your photographs done as per the photograph instructions available on the CIC website

- Fee Receipt - you can Pay online for your application and it's preferred by CIC too
https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en

Make sure you keep a copy of full application package before mailing it. Send it via traceable mail or courier even if you have to pay extra.

Above points are based on my personal experience and the experiences shared by many other members of this web forum.

Guys, I'm about to change my G1 to G2 license. Will this have any impact on my application? Since I already sent them the G1.

Hey ScubaC,

It should not be an issue as the upgraded license will still have your address. The License really is used to verify as an ID card.

This shouldn't be any issue as they only require the photo ID which you sent it.

Hey Angel ,

1) You will need to submit something that proves you can converse, understand and engage in either English or French. If you submit an English test like IELTS or LINC or CLIC you do not need to provide transcripts. So before I can suggest anything my question is what are you planning to submit as part of the Language requirements? Did you take one of the approved tests and have the results? This will aid me better is suggesting something.

2) Yes you can write down your name if there is space. For me once the photographer stamped and dated there was no space to write my name so I sent them as is at least so far no issues. So if there is space do write it down.

I presume angel has already submitted her application.

Don't worry, angel, let's hope your application will be fine just the way you sent it.

So far look like Jan applicants got AOR between min 40 days and max 50days.
