thank you. and how do I find out if my fingerprints are processed successfully? Do they send an email or should I call them a couple of days later?
Generally, they do revert but they take a lot of time. The best way is to keep calling them everyday to get an update on the app once cc is charged.

Hit +1 if you found my advice useful.

Thanks Tejas. +1 for you. Could you please share the source of this information? So far I can't find anything except that CIC is asking for a certificate issued in last 6 months for current country of residence.

It is more of an unsaid rule. Since PCCs dont come with an expiry date, you must assume an expiry date from CIC standpoint i.e. in your case, your FBI PCC is only valid for 6 months as you are residing in USA. If you werent in USA, then its valid indefinitely as long as you dont travel back to US (in which case CIC asks for a fresh PCC).
Hope this clears your doubt :)

I have received my FBI report yesterday (the letter has date of 4/12/2016 - my application was delivered on jan 16 2016.

I also got a letter from CIC to upload the FBI report. While uploading, it is asking for expiry date. What should I enter here? There is no expiry date mentioned on the document. Should I put 90 days form date of issue?
Was the letter delivered within the U.S or somewhere in India? I am asking since the delivery time was fairly short in your case (6 days). I guess we are back to three months roughly. Hopefully I will get mine around mid-May.

Not sure if its the right thread to ask this question but I'm going as its about FBI PCC.

with FBI PCC's turnaround being more than 3 months, what would be a suggested approach if I got the ITA and unable to receive FBI PCC within 60 days from then? Should I reject the ITA and wait for FBI PCC or do I have an option to submit the docs without FBI PCC and request for some extension for that alone?

Applying for FBI PCC well ahead is an obvious option but what if that's not feasible?

Reading related posts on this earlier, I can say that one can request an extension for the FBI PCC alone since CIC is well aware of the FBI's turn around time and they will be considerate as long as one submits proof along with the CSE. Most people have one extension (60 days), but some members have obtained another extension (30 days I believe) as well. FBI had taken 4 months in the recent past, but now it seems like we are back to three months:) Good Luck!

On an unrelated note, why are so many of you keen to reject ITA? I believe that should be the very last resort for exceptional cases. Just go through the thread where people are anxiously waiting for ITA's between 460-467 points ;) I guess, for folks like myself, everything is extremely hard won in life and we cannot even think of turning down any such golden opportunity. I accepted my ITA Jan end with 467 points even though I had absolutely nothing in place at that time. And past rounds have all vindicated my choice. Never try to predict the political policies - it is far easier to predict stock price movements.... :D

Thanks a bunch for the comforting words! I absolutely agree with your comments on the rejection part. I see people waiting so desperately for the ITA and I'm sure they do anything and everything to pass through but to reject the ITA. I may well end up in the same situation too. I didn't know there was an option to request extension and hence the mention of "Rejection" :D

I will have the US PCC delivered to have a friend in the US. Can anyone tell me how many pages the document is so I can verify the scanned copy? Also, is the document double sided?

The document is just one page, single sided.

Any idea how long CIC takes once we send the US FBI certificate assuming that all other documents are already in place. Are we looking at anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks (i.e 1 to 3 months) of background checking before PPR stage? It will help me to plan my travel schedule.

I am looking at around May 15-May 20 for my FBI certificate to be ready. Should I assume that PPR will happen anywhere from June 20 to August 20?
