HI,

Got my ITA on 04/05, got fingerprint yesterday and sent the package to FB today. Now, considering that I have 90 days to complete CIC application and considering that many people's fingerprints get rejected, I am in confusion and worry. I know FBI takes around 4 months for PCC and I know I cna get some extension from CIC, but what if the fingerprints get rejected, I can decline ITA and with 451 CRS I know I will get next 2-3 invitations but if I learn in July that my fingerprint is rejected, I will be screwed. Don't know what to do, I see many people saying their fingerprints got rejected multiple times by FBI. My local police station did a OK job (neither great nor terrible), I am not confident that the prints will get accepted. Plz advise.

Firstly, it does not take 4 months for FBI processing. It takes around 2-3 months based on current speeds. If you get your FBI report soon (eg 2 months) and lets say your fingerprints got rejected, then immediately apply again sending a fresh set of prints. Also in this case, wait till the end of your ITA period and then submit your application requesting an extension. That way, you can buy enough time for receiving the second FBI report.

Ok thanks. I read everywhere (including FBI official website which state 12-13 weeks) that it is like 4-5 months so I got worried, I guess those are not norms. Anyway, I have on more question - how about I getting fingerprints from some more places (the one I sent today is from local police station) and send some more (lets say 2 more) separate FBI PCC requests? that way if first gets rejected the next one will be in queue immediately and then the next so I wont have to wait 2 months to get the next one processes. Plz advise. Thanks a lot.

It used to take 12-14 weeks earlier. But the processing speeds vary all the time. You have to interpret how much time your appln is going to take by following current trends. Refer to other FBI PCC related threads and check other people's timelines. I got mine in around 2 months and thats what the trend was a few weeks back.
I am not sure if you can send multiple applns around same time. Maybe someone else can comment on this.

You can send as many request as you want. But it will not make much sense. Its better to wait for your report. CIC gives some relaxation when it comes to a PCC from FBI. Also, in case you plan on sending another request, you can get 2-3 sets of fingerprints and send them together. That will work too.

Good luck!

Ok thanks, if what you saying is the trend then I would be very pleased to say the least (freaked out seeing 12-13 weeks in FBI website and then seeing posts saying 4-5 months).

Currently they are processing packages received around 22 Feb 2017. Once they open your package and charge your credit card (cc), it takes about 1.5-2 weeks for the report to reach at your address in US. So based on this information, I'd say it will take between 2-3 months.

Thanks, that sounds much better than the kind of gloomy stories I have been reading and what FBI has written on their website. May I know from where did you get fingerprinting done? mine at local police station were bad I must say.

I have moved back to India so I got it done at my local police station here in India.
