Timelines:

Application sent: June 26th (by India Post, Charges = Rs. 1100)
Application Received: July 1st
CC Charged: Sept 14th
Processed: Sept 21st
Results Received: Oct 6th

*** 2 Sets of finger prints taken by the CID office (Near Haj House), Mumbai (Charges = Rs. 500)

For anyone who needs to change their delivery address:

Once you've sent the address change form to FBI, call them multiple times to make sure they applied the change to your application. I sent in my change of address a month before my opening date, and still it was not applied. I called on my opening date and they told me my address was not changed, and they need a 48 hour notice before shipping, so I missed my deadline.

Luckily, I had an email proof from a month earlier so they resent my report to the new address with no additional cost.

Just make sure you stay on top of them all the time. They don't seem to be very reliable.

My timeline:
Application reached FBI: 17 July
CC charged: 23 September
Application mailed: 01 October
Still not received

FBI finally mailed my report. Application was received on July 16th, processed on October 2, mailed October 5th. They advised I should receive it in2-4 weeks (I'm in BC,Canada). Can't wait ;D

Any idea about current Opening and Processing dates

I called them. said opening July 20.

I asked them why some people are processed much faster, and the agent told that her info is updated and she has no idea why some people are already charged, although their packages should not have been opened yet!

I believe they just put the packages in chuncks, and sometimes, some packages from the later dates come to the front rows, and they are processed faster. It's just a guess of course, byt it can be true!

Anyway, I gave her my husband's name and she searched on the system and said that they have not opened his package yet!

hi guys,
I am in little confusion, my CC have a PIN and i dont see any column where PIN can be provided in CC form. I was wondering if i take a visa pre-paid card for $18 , will FBI accept that?

FBI don't need pin for charging a credit card.... They have a different system

Thanks aru_nj for clarification. I had one more question, due to some issues for enabling international usauge in my india CC, i was planning to go with money order. Will "money order" form of payment will slow down the process as compared to CC. There is little bit of paper work required to enable international usage in my CC , so was thinking about money order from ICICI bank

You can go ahead with US Dollar Demand Draft from ICICI Bank :)
