Congrats! What a relief to finally receive the report! Please let me know if you use ink fingerprints or livescan and did CIC accept your state PCC? I am waiting for my third attempt's fingerprints to be accepted.

All the best!

Just wanted to share with all of you guys in here that I have received the all-illusive FBI PCC after all.

1st application set sent this time last year during preparation for the FSW application. Rejected for both of us.

2nd application set sent at the end of last year, after CIC requested it. Accepted for my wife, but mine rejected again.

Applied for 3rd set on 20th March 2015 and sent state PCC for myself in the meantime. FBI approved and mailed it on 11th June which I received today on 15th.

Going to send it to CIC asap who have been nice to give me extension two times.

Thanks for help and support. All the best to those who are still waiting.

Regards

Thank you for the response,,, So I have to wait for long time :( Can I apply for my immigration to Canada without PCC and ask them extension for this??? Because my case is ready, and I dnt want to wait more. Or it is useless to wpply without PCC???

Since you are applying under the new express entry system you can start the process of filling out your profile under that system. You don't need the PCC to start that part. See here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp

However, you may want to time your submission of that because if you receive an invitation to apply you will have to submit PCC along with all other documents required for your application. Since you mentioned below that you already sent your request for PCC to the FBI on May 15th, and considering that it takes 12-14 weeks you should get your PCC between Aug 7th and 21st. In the link above it explains that you are given 60 days to submit your application if you are get an invitation to apply. Also consider as mentioned below some of have had issues where the FBI rejects it based on unclear prints and then you have to resubmit a request wait another 12-14 weeks. Hopefully that won't be the case for you.

I just logged I to my account for the card I gave the FBI for the fee and saw that they just processed (charged) my card today for the fee for PCC. Woo hoo! ;D :P

By tracking they received my request on April 3rd.
CC charged today June 16th.
Hopefully it will be sent in the mail and arrive soon.

Congrats buddy. Can i know how you took fingerprints - by self with ink or by scan or by getting help from some agency with ink ? I am trying to see which type of prints got accepted.

Thanks harirajmohan,

1st set was from local police station, ink prints taken by an (untrained) police officer in a hurry.

2nd set was from the state police headquarters, ink scan from professional print takers. They were good, but the person who did mine didn't use fresh ink for each finger as did the lady who did my wife's prints. Result, mine were light and must have gone lighter after sitting at FBIs for 3 months.

3rd set (for myself) was an electronic live scan done at the state police headquarters, and then printed on FD-258 paper. The attendant told me if the software accepts it here, it will be accepted at FBI too. But they use electronic scan only if your ink prints have been rejected earlier. I showed them the FBI rejection letter.

Thanks for sharing! That's good info to know. So how much time did they originally give you? How much time was given in each extension?

Hi kwyatt75,

CIC gives 2 months during first request. Then they gave me a two month extension upon requesting. Then another one month extension which is to expire at the end of this month. They will keep giving it until you submit. One just need to email Ottawa office for that.

Already answered above about the scans. As for state PCC, CIC does NOT accept it. They explicitly said in response to my request to consider state PCC instead. They want FBI PCC, howsoever long it takes. All the best to you too.

Thanks for the detail update buddy. It gives some hope on my scanned prints. Good luck on your next stage of your application.

The one i took myself is little darker than the one we took at police station. So either the one i took or the machine scanned one will be accepted i guess. Let us see. Waiting for May 1st processing date.

What i noticed is that in one police station that ink grid has very light ink in it and the other one he actually rolled the dark ink every time before i roll my fingers on a glass slab. The latter one was dark. Dont know which one will get through. its all assumptions now. :)

As for the comments above on State PCCs being accepted, mine were accepted by CIC and I have received my COPR.
My first FBI rejection was in November (I am an October applicant), the second one was rejected in January and the third one was rejected in April. I sent state PCCs (resided in 4 US states over the last 8 years) along with a letter from the local PD as well as copies of all 3 rejections. My 4th FBI print got charged last week but I received my COPR and stamped passport yesterday.

I did not ask them to accept the state PCCs, I just said that here are the 3 rejections and here are my State PCCs. I have applied for another one and do not expect to hear back before June. Please grant me 3 additional months. I received my MR in March.

I might have been lucky but if you keep getting rejections, try to get state PCC and send as well as try to get additional FBI PCC.

Congrats buddy. Finally you got through which is great. No more issues on collecting more documents and going through painful waiting period and dealing with PCCs.

That is very good information for all who may have a similar situation. Thanks for sharing. +1

I remember reading about only one other such case, but that guy had been to Canada several times. That was probably the reason they waived FBI PCC in lieu of state PCCs. But if you haven't been to Canada ever, and still your state PCCs were accepted, it is good to know.

I am surprised why they didn't accept mine though, especially (unlike your 4) I have lived only in 1 state for all the time in US. This should have been more acceptable. May be they just need at least 3 FBI rejections for that, or they have a deadline before they need to finish the case.

Anyhow, sent the PCC to CIC today via Regular mail. Figured time doesn't matter anymore. :)

Congrats buddy, I thank God Almighty on your behalf. That was really really frustrating. I felt soooo bad for you after the third rejection. All's well that ends well.

FBI Opening packages : April 9th

Anyone know of a good place to get fingerprints done in Vancouver? Other than the local Police Department?

Thanks
