I obtained one but I have a confusion. The report states that "Pursuant to your request for a criminal history background check, this letter is to advise that a search of the Master Fingerprint File of the New Jersey State Police, Identification and Information Technology Section was conducted and failed to reveal any criminal record."
Does this mean that I don't have any criminal record or it mean that it failed to do the search?
FYI, I have never been arrested in anywhere.
Seniors please give your comments.

I just applied for pcc (FBI) last week and one the week before. I am yet to send the pack to cio.
Does VO accept the individual states' record? If so then its good to hear. Please let me know if cic will ask for the pcc or visa office only will ask.
I am confused on what to do. if i send now then they should not ask me immediately in 2-3 months. Hopefully the prints are accepted at fbi.

My 1st attempt to FBI was failed. Therefore, I am requesting my visa office to accept the state PCC.
harrysaini said:It totally depends on your visa officer assigned to your case that would he accept the State PCC or he would only want the FBI PCC.
Generally people go for State PCC if they are unable to get FBI PCC after the fingerprints have been rejected multiple times.
I believe sending a state PCC is worth a try but you should also start the FBI PCC in process and if the Case officer is adamant on wanting FBI PCC they you have to provide it ..no way out in that .
harirajmohan said:Hi, Yes I send 2 sets in the last week (one taken by me and another taken by police station). But i heard that prints taken at police station also got rejected and the current system is not flexible as it was and rejecting many. After seeing this forum i got scared and thinking to send one set this week with digitally scanned prints. I am hoping one would work.
Just curious and confused, what type of prints are getting through?
harrysaini said:just to be on the safer side i got mine done at a crime laboratory in my city ..if you want to be 100% sure then you can get them digitally scanned that 100% sure shot way so that the fingerprints would not get rejected.
