My application reached the Bureau on Dec 16... Wondering when they will process it!!

They didn't want to put the full statement. It should actually read "We upgraded our system and it will take 14-16 weeks due to the fact that we went with the lowest bid and did not check the system limitations to get this completed. Now we need 10 people to complete the work that 2 people did earlier. However, due to recent budget constraints, we do not have 10 people and hence the 2 people processing the applications now take 14-16 weeks"

I sent in my third set of prints last week, and am actually planning to send a 4th set next week. The FBI PCC alone has cost me more than my medical exam which was $450!

I do understand your situation - 450$ upwards...scary!!!
Folks applied in June got it in 1 month - when system was UN-UPGRADED. This is really a joke and that too on the foot hills of World's most powerful economy and developed nation!!!

Can't agree more with you guys. It appears all that getting to the den of the criminals shown in movies using a fingerprint on the edge of a cup or a refrigerator handle was all bull crap. FBI doesn't seem to be able to make sense out of prints of all 10 fingers.

I also got my 3rd set done and am about to send it to FBI. This time I managed to get them electronically done, and then printed out on FD-258 paper. Actually, local police departments do have this facility but they only let you use it if FBI has already rejected your ink prints.

Strangely, even the electronic machine showed 2 (out of 10 fingers) red alerts, but the operator went ahead with those saying it is alright and will be acceptable. But with the prior experience I have, the 3rd attempt is not going to be a cake walk either.

This PCC thing can be a classic case of comparison between US and India. Indian PCC from embassy takes 4 hours, while US PCC takes 4 months.

FBI told me yesterday that my request which reached on 29/DEC will be completed in a couple of weeks (hopefully accepted), I think your request will be ready within next week, good luck for all!!

I finally received MR, RPRF and PCC request yesterday, 3/20. Timeline on left.

I have an issue and want to know if anyone faced a similar issue. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. Below is my timeline for reference.

App filed - Oct'14
Got married - Dec'14
PER - Jan'15
Added spouse - Feb'15
MR/RPRF - Mar'15

My wife has been in US for less than 3 months on H4 visa and does not even have ITIN yet. Unfortunately CIC has asked for her FBI PCC even though she has been in the US for less than 6 months. I do realize that they can ask for it if they wish to....

Can I try to see if they can reconsider this decision?

If not, can I apply for FBI PCC without SSN/ITIN? The personal information form asks for SSN*.

Will they give me an extension until July as FBI takes nearly 4 months to process PCC.

This is my personnel opinion but I would say apply for the FBI clearance and also send a mail to the concerned visa office writing them about how ur wife has just been to n the US for less than 6 months and if the FBI PCC is still needed you have already applied for it and request the visa officer to grant a extension till a 4 month time period for the clearenxe to come .

The visa officer might consider it or might not but if he does than ur file would be cleread and a f he does not at least you have sent them a mail asking for a extension .

Again that's my option I know ur have asked this on the main forum and people have told you to not to question the authority of a visa officer but I belive there is no harm in asking a genuine question as per the CiC guidlines .

I was asked to provide China PCC for my wife. I was not even married when I was in China. I sent a mail right away and in 11 days got a reply saying our sincere apologies and asked to provide only mine. So as Harry pointed out, it might work out for you. Give it a try in the most polite and humble way as you can. All the best buddy!!!

Anyone from United States who can telephone FBI and ask which date they are currently processing and date of app packages they are opening.

I ring FBI and it took ages for a call rep to pick up my call and I ended up running out of credit from my mobile phone. I am calling from Saudi Arabia..

is it a toll free number? try using skype or magic jack smartphone apps..they can call toll free numbers in the US and Canada without any charge..

I was asked to provide China PCC for my wife. I was not even married when I was in China. I sent a mail right away and in 11 days got a reply saying our sincere apologies and asked to provide only mine. So as Harry pointed out, it might work out for you. Give it a try in the most polite and humble way as you can. All the best buddy!!!

Many thanks Jitesh69! Your case gives me a hope that my request may not go in vain. As my timeline has been decent so far I do not want to delay further process by waiting for FBI......will keep you'll posted.
