Just a quick fire curious question.
For those of us in US, is FBI PCC enough or do we need state police clearance certificate as well?

As per CIC guidelines, only FBI is sufficient.

Dear forum Members,

I applied for FBI PCC on 6th Oct 2014(FBI received date) ( for self and Spouse).

As per FBI customer care our reports are processed on 23rd Jan 2015.

we are in US only and as per USPS mail it takes 3 days to get it delivered at my address.

Today i again called FBI and he still see same status processed they dont have date when it is posted.

He told me t0 call them again after 3 weeks from Processed date.

Will they send me another copy of report if it would not delivered in 3 weeks or I have to restart the whole process?

Appreciate your views....

Don't panic. They have processed on 23rd Jan. I have seen cases where it took full one week to despatch the report after it was being processed. Also I have seen full one week to reach a letter to its destination in the US. Considering that I think you would be getting by 6th Feb.

I know it is tough at this point. But please wait for a few days.

My fingerprints were rejected due to "quality of characteristics being too low to be used". I just sent another set of fingerprints plus a whole new application which is received today (Feb 2) but at the rate of how slow the processing time is I'll likely only get it earliest May!!! I have a feeling it might be rejected again too coz my skin condition on my palms renders my fingerprints barely readable.

I just applied for an Iowa State Criminal History Record Check (processing time only 1 week) since my time in the states has exclusively been in Iowa. Could I use that instead of the FBI Clearance, with a letter from the fingerprinting technician I visited explaining that I have a skin condition which causes poor fingerprints?

Many people have been asking this question as whether a state PCC is accepted in lieu of FBI PCC. But there is no definite answer. I suggest you to raise a CSE to your VO and explain the situation you are in. They might accept it. There has been cases where they have accepted state PCCs .

In the mean time send one more fresh application to FBI with multiple finger prints . Just in case the second one does not go through you have one more in line.

What do you mean by CSE? VO means Visa Officer right? I'm also attaching the original letter sent back from FBI detailing why my fingerprints were rejected. Hopefully that and all the other documents I'm submitting (including police certs from other countries I have spent most of my life living at) will be suffice. After all, I only resided about a year tops in the states so it's not like I was there for a very long time.

Are you suggesting that I send another application to FBI again? Since mine is just received at FBI on Feb2, when should I send another application out again? Given that processing time is 16 weeks now, I might as well send them a fresh application every 4 weeks lol.

Did anyone of you who are currently waiting for FBI PCC and got an extension from your VO
submitted the rest of the docs(MR and RPRF receipt) ? or are you planning to submit it all together?

Just saw that. So if my fingerprints keep getting rejected and they can't give me a FBI clearance, and CIC refuses to accept state clearance, then I can say goodbYe to Canadian PR?!

Do you think getting an appeal letter from the MP would help?

I am really not sure what would happen in such cases. Some where in the forum, i read about some one who was repeatedly getting rejected for FBI PCC and in the end the VO exempted the PCC requirement at their discretion. I was not able to find the thread though.

I am myself, not too confident of the fingerprints that i sent and am now looking at sending a second application. After having completed such a long process and gathering so many docs, getting stuck at FBI PCC is really disappointing.

Brother, what is your VO ? If it is Singapore VO, then I suggest you to go ahead applying for FBI PCC. Why? because I lived in US for only 5 months totally, i.e 2 months for first time, 3 months for the second time, and yes I was still insisted to provide FBI PCC.

This makes me nervous, I have submitted my application for FBI on 17th October and it took them painstakingly 109 days to process my application and I'm still unable to find out that my fingerprints were accepted.
I really wonder why does it take so long for FBI to issue PCC where as other countries like UK, Australia take at max of 2-3 weeks....

I called FBI yesterday and they said my PCC was mailed out over the weekend. I gave an american address in Virginia. How long it might take to get there and what are the chances of the envelope to get lost by USPS?

hi guys! I got a reply from Fbi that my credit card was declined after more than 3 mos of waiting already. I just sent an updated credit card payment form asap. How long do you think guys I'm going to wait for the entire process to be done?

Called today and found that my application is in last stage of process and the report will be mailed in couple of days....
