Please dears,

What is the process to request a background check from California? And any guess on the lead time?
I am starting to work with the possibilty of sending the state report instead of FBI.

Update on my FBI PCC -

Sep 30th applicant, CC chargd on Nov 05' 14; just got to know that the request was completed yesterday and the cards were NOT legible. Will have to re-do this entire process and there is NO WAY this can be expedited -( Feeling gutted right now....this is absolutely disgusting !!! Have already requested for an extension to CIC and not even sure if anymore will be granted based on this recent update!!!

(P.S - Got the fingerprints from an agency to eliminate the risk of not being accepted).

Ask the VO to accept the state PCC and let them know abt the timeline and your Figerprints was not accepted.
They will surely help you.

The current estimated processing time for an FBI Background Check is 14-16 weeks from the date it was received. Additional time should be allowed for mail delivery.

A quick search revealed that they provide ink fingerprints only.
Did you take only one set?!

Does anyone have any idea about FBI name searches?!
I heard that if someone's fingerprints are rejected twice, s/he would be eligible for a name search within 90 days of the last rejection letter date.
Any info on that matter?!

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry if someone has asked this questions before but I haven't seen anyone address this:

The payment options listed on the form are money order, certified check, and credit card. Can I use a (US$) demand draft like the one I used for my FSW application?

Thank you all for your help with this.

HI GMRL,

Demand draft will work. 100% sure. It worked for me.

Feeling really sad and sorry to hear about your case. Unfortunately there is no way you can expedite your case. Moreover you can only know whether your finger prints are accepted at the last stage.

I has suggested this before and saying it again.

Please take the help of professionals to take your prints
Provide multiple prints .

MOST IMPORTANT
Send one more application with new payment (money order / certified cheque ) with multiple set of finger prints after one or two weeks of your application

Just in case the first one gets rejected, you have the second application in line. It is not worth waiting for 14+ weeks at this stage.
