Hi,

Here is an update on my case:
They received my package on Sept 7th. Charged on Oct 2nd. They told me to expect it around Dec 7th.

And the operator was very rude. Maybe we are used to Canadian courtesy which is uncommon in the US?! 8)

Good luck to y'all.
Unfortunately, they are getting frustrated because of the volume of calls. Another thing is that the only people going to the FBI are non-citizens (unlike citizens who can go through the Channelers), so they feel that they can treat us however they want.

I'm really curious how your application reached on Sept 7th - because it was a Sunday????

It's a good idea to try this, though there are no guarantees. I am not from NY, so I cannot help you. However, this might help: http://www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/ojis/recordreview.htm

Found this on their webiste: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?

Yes, Applicants should provide a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) certificate with fingerprints. State certificates may also be requested. The Visa Office will advise you if state certificates are required in your case.
All I'm asking is. Does CPC-O accept "alternate PCCs" if FBI finger prints were rejected multiple times.
I did see another post by someone saying.. they finally had to accept State and local PCC, if you can prove that FBI rejected fingerprints multiple times.

Good luck to all.

PS: I have NOT yet received my PCC request. This is just the prep work I'm doing right now.

Hi zentury

I'm curious what you mean by electronic fingerprints? Is it that the fingerprint is scanned directly into a computer and then transmitted electronically? Or is it that it is scanned into a computer, but then printed out on a card. I'm just curious how it works.

Folks!

I mailed my copy along with my spouse's to FBI which we fingerprinted in Local police office in NJ, USA and hoping for the best.

I have been living in US for past 14 years but my wife just got here last year.

Does she (we) need a PCC report from our home country as well?

Thanks in advance!
-BikBis

Yes. Your spouse definitely need a PCC from home country.
In your case if you had spend more than 6 months after the age of 18 in your home country , then you will require.
However in the last 10 years of stay you might not have mentioned staying in your home country in the application forms. Then CIC officers might not know that you may have stayed for more than 6 months after your age of 18 and so they may not ask for a PCC from your home country.
In case you have not stayed in your home country for more than 6 months after your age of 18, then you do not require.

Hope it clears your doubts.
Thanks

skandari: I somehow have a feeling that the call center guys are fooling around. Whenever you call and ask them which they are currently processing they will say the date 3 months behind.
If you ask about your report, then they will add 3 months and say the date.

Unless & until a few more people in this thread get their report it is difficult to predict any thing.

Pharm got his FBI report in 8 weeks. He might be plain lucky. But that's a one off case.

They used a "special" finger printing scanner, that can scan upto 4 fingers at the same time.
The images are scanned into the computer, and transmitted electronically for further processing.
The software is pretty good at identifying good vs bad prints. And shows "PASS" or "FAIL" for each finger print, almost immediately.

This is NOT printed on a card.

Good thing is they process State PCC in 10 days.

Best part is, the same agency is a FBI channeler too. but that specific service can be availed only by citizens or greencard holders.

My application reached FBI yesterday 21/11/2014. When should i expect the PCC? Are they still taking 12 weeks to process?

Hi,

I sent Minnesota state PCC, in place of FBI PCC and explained them that FBI Clearance will be delayed and if they can consider State PCC. The request and State PCC might have reached today and will let the group know if State PCC was okay to them.
