Hello everyone, I submitted my request to FBI on 04/01/2015, and today I got to know that they were unable to process my request because my credit card was declined. I have sent the Credit Card Payment form again, but it is now back to step 1, and will again take 3 months for them to process it. Has anybody been in the same situation? It is damn frustrating that they won't process the request now. I am not sure what to do. Please help!!!

sorry buddy. I am afraid that they wont process the same application and prints with new payment. I think it needs to be the whole process again. Experts can confirm.

Thanks harirajmohan. I am not sure if this would be the case because FBI customer service agent told me that they have kept my application and fingerprints. She also gave me a record number to include with the Credit Card Payment form. However, because my CC was declined, the application was taken out of the process, and will be put in queue of this month's applications again once they receive my CC form. This is so annoying!!.

Do I need to inform CIC about this? I have already submitted my application to CIC with the delivery receipts of my PCC request. Now, it is going to be delayed even more.

If you have a deadline by which CIC has asked you to submit PCC then definitely let them know what is going on.

FBI - If they are ok then please go ahead. it will save lot of time. For many cases they did not accept.

I was in the EXACT same situation as you. My app had reached them on the 18th of March and then my CC had to be closed due to fraudulent activity.

So I contacted them and their rep gave me incorrect info, telling me that I should send a letter with the old and new numbers, explain the situation and sign the letter. She seemed confident and emphasized over and over that the signature was very important. So I did not suspect that I was being mislead. So I sent the new info on April 10th and waited patiently.

Then on ~ June 6th, when my app was due to be processed, they told me that my app was declined because I had not submitted the new info on their standard form, even though the info was exactly the same. They asked me to fax the new form and insisted (not once, but on 3 separate calls) that it would go back in line and take another 3+ months, leaving me in a panic!! (even though I had sent a 2nd set of prints on April 10th, just for safety)

Anyways, to make a long story short, I ended up faxing them the info on their form and wrote a compelling letter explaining my situation with Canadian immigration and the possibility of not getting a second extension. After exactly 2 days my new credit card got charged (the phone reps were still insisting that my file has gone back in line for the 3+ month wait ::) ). In spite of the charge I was not sure if it meant that they have processed my app. So then I called them after another 3 days, and the rep said my PCC had already been mailed out!! Now it has already reached Ottawa on the 22nd.

So, considering my experience I am positive the reps have no clue what their talking about most of the time. Just write them a really strong letter explaining why your card got declined and politely requesting them to make an exception and process your app. It worked for me. It would probably work for you as well!

Just FYI, I have faced this before too and they took exactly 3 more months after sending the new card info.

Wow! exactly same thing happened with me - CC was blocked because of the fraudulent transactions. Can you please tell me the FBI email address where you sent the email specifying your situation?

So if we go by this they are about 69-78 days behind. Can anyone guess if they are slowing down, speeding up or about the same?

It improved while comparing to Feb. But from May month there is not much change. I think one should still wait for 2.5 months to get their application processed and another 1-2 weeks to get the report. So total minimum 3 months waiting period for now.

13-Feb Gap
Opening 21-Nov 84
Processing 29-Oct 107

22-May Gap
Opening 9-Mar 74
Processing 3-Mar 80

28-May Gap
Opening 17-Mar 72
Processing 11-Mar 78

4-Jun Gap
Opening 23-Mar 73
Processing 20-Mar 76

12-Jun Gap
Opening 6-Apr 67
Processing 30-Mar 74

19-Jun Gap
Opening 14-Apr 66
Processing 4-Apr 76

24-Jun Gap
Opening 16-Apr 69
Processing 7-Apr 78

747-captain,
Thanks for putting this in detail. I am in exact similar situation like you and I called them up today and they told me to Fax the New credit card form along with a letter. Would that suffice or am I supposed to send the forms across to their address again. Please let me know.
