All you guys who had the misfortune of living in america for over 6 months. Regardless of your PR app stage, i advise you to:
- Apply for the FBI clearance 'yesterday' (Today is already late).
- Let someone in US receive ur package ( Save you atleast 10-12 days )
- Send multiple fingerprint cards..( At least 3 )
- After 3 weeks of delivery to FBI, call up and ask for your File/Record Number.
- Call every week thereafter to check on your app status.
- Estimated processing time is 12-16 weeks.
ELSE
Panic and lose sleep later, when you will have thoughts of never making it to Canada,, and consider other pessimistic scenarios.
NEVERTHELESS
- Visa offices do extend deadline to a total of 3 months(maximum), with a warning of no more extensions henceforth
- State Clearances can also be worked on in parallel,, just in case FBI report isnt in..you may turn them over,, many cases of State Clearances being accepted when a candidate cannot get FBI report due to bad fingerprints / slow processing at FBI.. u must justify it though with proof of submissions to FBI and well written cover letters.

Hi Guys - need your expert opinion. My application date is JUne 25th 2014 - I included the PCC I received from FBI and Indian Consulate in August 2013. I am understanding that I require new PCC's as they have to be within 3 months to the time of application.
I received PER on Oct 22 and waiting for MR / PCC request. I am hearing it takes more than 3 months and CIC gives only 2 months time. Do they extend the deadline?
Is it a better idea to apply for PCC from FBI now? I dont want to end up in falling in the 3 month deadline again. Please advise...
