State Police Certificates are optional (not even mentioned by CIC) but recommended by applicants like me. If think, if you cannot get FBI clearance due to some reason (unreadable fingerprint, delay etc.) this can help a bit (unproven statement).

Moreover they are quicker to get for most of the US states compared to FBI.

Hi Friends,
I reside in the USA.
Can any one in this forum clarify whether we need the State Police certificate(s) also, along with FBI Clearance? I know that FBI Clearance is mandatory, but supplying State police certificates is optional...is it not?

Thanks in advance,

Do they consider State clearance incase we are unable to obtain FBI clearance on time??
Any information will be great help.
Also please let me know the process to obtain state clearance.

FBI is testing our patience.... ???

hi sb

FBI clearance is mandatory. They may or may not ask for the PCC. If you're in the US, the easiest way for you to get a PCC is to go to a fingerprint/scanning service provider and tell them that you need one.

it took me 5 months to get FBI report ... believe it or not ...

You need to provide CIC with FBI and all state PCC's .. if you didnt do this now.. CIC will ask you about the reports along with the medical and then you will not have enough time to get it.

After waiting for 4 months i did sent my full docs to ND without FBI report and then sent the FBI report later when i got it.

Why 5 months? did you have to have them redone like I did?
Because of this, it's been over six months for me. :(

hi deardhir

My fingerprints were received by the FBI on 15-April-2010 and I haven't heard anything from them yet.

Hi upp942, did you hear anything further?

hi deardhir

I made a mistake. My fingerprints were received by the FBI on 19-April-2010. No, I haven't received or heard anything from them yet. What about you?

Hi guys,

I just got my fingerprints done today. I have a question about the payment. I want to pay with a credit card but since i don't have one i'm using a relatives card.

I remember reading somewhere that i can use someone else's card for payment as long as i get the payment form notarized. Now the problem is that i cannot find that link anymore where i read this.

So i need help with this please, i have everything ready just the payment issue is holding me back. Thanks for the help.

Call them on Monday before submitting your prints ("Any question regarding this matter should be directed to the Customer Service Group at 304-625-5590." -http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm) to double check this.

Hi,

What option should we select on the FBI record request/application for Return Mail Options from below (as given on the application form)?

1. FEDEX Account #
2. Prepaid Return Envelope (Enclosed)
3. First-Class Mail

Also, I need to send application for both my wife and myself. Should we send 02 separate applications or 2 applications in same envelope or 1 application with both names on the same?

Please help

I would say choose the Prepaid Return Envelope option. Many times they fail to read the FedEx information just before mailing.
Send 2 separate applications in the same envelope, as both need to sign the Cover Letter. You can make one cashier's check for both of your fees, rather than making 2 cheques

Hi guys,

I also have a question about the return mail options. What does the First-Class Mail option mean exactly? Will the FBI deduct the mailing charges from the $18 fee? Will it take longer to get the results back this way?

Secondly, i also do not remember my social security number as i stayed in the U.S back in 2001 & i lost my social security card. Should i just mark it as N/A or is there any way to find out my social security number. Thanks.
