Hi,
I can't find the thread related to this question anymore. I hope it's not a big problem.

My spouse is currently living in the states as a permanent resident. He has not yet reached 6 months. Should we send our application without the FBI clearance check and if they ask for it later on, then we proceed with getting it?

Kind regards,
Dida

You can do either. You can send it with your application, send it along later once you get it, or wait until they ask for it.

There are rumors that you'll have a faster processing time if you send it with your application but this has never been confirmed.

In this case, that rumor would probably be true; it would take the OP ~ 10-12 weeks to receive the FBI letter, followed by up to a month before CIC would acknowledge receiving it from the OP.

Thanks for clarifying :)

Wonderful. Thank you for both your replies. Also, worst case scenario. If he's not accepted to come here due to any valid reason for cic. Would asking for an fbi clearance check have any effects later on if he applies to become an American citizen?

By valid reason, it's not related to his background check.

Any opinions?

Thank you.
