FBI Background Check

Hi guys. I was just browsing the threads on this topic, and I noticed that most people receive a notice within a few days that the FBI has received their fingerprints. I submitted mine almost 8 weeks ago and haven't heard anything at all from them? Should I be worried? And if so, does anyone have a contact number for them?

Unless you send it via a trackable method (certified/registered mail), I'm pretty sure you don't get any indication, other than your check being cashed or your credit card being charged, that they've received your request.

That's correct. The FBI doesn't let you know they recieved your fingerprints/request until you get the response back. If you use a trackable delivery method then you can at least know when to start counting the weeks. If you paid by credit card or can see if a money order has been cashed, it seems that about 2 weeks before you get your response back (approximately due to mailing) you would see the payment go through.

It took about 8 weeks for my husband to get his response back. We were able to track it getting there but couldn't track the payment.

Just for anyone who is tracking FBI times right now, I sent mine in on August 9, 2010, and my parents let me know this morning that it was there. Soo....

FBI Sent: August 9, 2010
FBI Received: October 9. 2010

it cld take anywhere from 2-4 months
