I know some of the channelers are modifying the reports and the clients aren't receiving them the way they are submitted to the channeler. I just hope you got that in to CIC before March 9th.

CIC received mine March 2th,2015 but I don't know it's correct. that FBI channel aproved sent me by mail ( My US adress)

We both got the reports in before the change on March 9th. Now it's just a wait and see to learn if CIC is going to ask us to go to the FBI for the report, or accept the reports we sent. Which VO are you assigned too?

Does anyone know the difference between the Police Clearance reports issued by FBI vs FBI-Approved Channeler. I found the sample online at https policeclearanceinfo.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/sample-fbi-police-clearance-2013.png
I am just wondering if these are indeed same? Any Idea??

This is what ours looked like through a channeler, exactly like what you will get from the FBI, except the FBI is now printing on plain white paper. Channelers aren't presently allowed though. They shut that opportunity down fast :'(

Thanks! Saria.
If this looks same I don't know how CIC will figure out which one is from FBI VS FBI-Channeler.

Most of the channelers won't supply a copy that qualifies for an apostille. The majority of the channelers only deliver a PDF via their secure portal. There was a difference between the PDF and the report mailed to me. Notably, the signature in the PDF looked the same, but it was black, like a pasted scan of the signature. Whereas the mailed report, the signature looks different, almost as if the document was really signed.

We sent ours out before the change and we just got it back now, the channeler we used allows for the paper to be apostilled but we'll probably just send it in with everything then if they need a different one make sure we already have prints in to process one through the FBI. This is so not okay that they can change the rules like that without saying anything! We sent it out like 3 days before it changed and now we're fucked for it. The medical is expiring soon we don't have time to waste, it is from the freaking FBI so I don't get how they cannot accept it! It's even on FBI paper! Would apostilling this copy even make a difference because it's 200$ to do so and I would prefer not to waste that money.

I have submitted the Channeler provided report to CIC. Lets wait and see if they accept this.

Any updates?

I have used feildprint because the live scan location was nearby but they email me a soft copy and asked me to just take a print on white paper.
Should i do that or should I re apply through other channelers ? Now when I go to the CIC website this is what I see....

Citizenship and Immigration Canada does not accept FBI police certificates issued by FBI-approved third party private companies. Only police certificates issued directly by the FBI will be accepted.

There is a difference between the online PDF and what you receive in the mail. Most notable difference is that the signature looks real in the mailed report, even though it's identical to the PDF. Did you submit your PDF version before March 9th? If so, then they may accept it. If not, then I would submit directly to the FBI and mail the FBI report and envelope the report arrived in.

I didnt mail the report then , I received my medical request and PCC on March 9 itself. Thats when they changed the rule. So I applied for FBI finger printing through the conventional way and it says 16 to 18 weeks...
My 60 day period expires this week. I am not sure If I can request extension or just send this Channeler FBI report on white paper and see what happens...?!??!

I guess the question is should i reapply through another channeler to get the hard copy now? Or should I try my luck with this print out?
What are the odds that if they were to accept the PCC through third party, will they accept the print out or the copy with "real"signature?

There's really no point in using another Channeler.

I would send the print out, along with whatever proof you have that you had also sent your prints to the FBI directly (which you said you did in your previous post), to explain this to CIC.

It's mind boggling why CIC was allowing Channeler reports from mid-January thru March 9th, but then pulled the plug...even though the FBI processing times are still 14-16 weeks!

I echo this advice!

It appears that while some Channelers say that the letter that they provide is identical to an actual FBI letter, including the blue tamper-proof paper, they are not.

The FBI no longer issues reports on blue paper (effective early January of this year).

The FBI letter that the Channeler receives from the FBI has this extra paragraph at the bottom:

This Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) is provided pursuant to 28 CFR 16.30-16.34 solely for you to conduct a personal review and/or obtain a change, correction, or updating of your record. This CHRI is not provided for the purpose of licensing or employment or any other purpose enumerated in 28 CFR 20.33.

So, maybe CIC doesn't like seeing that this letter is solely for you to do a personal review?

Reading through 28 CFR 16-30-16.34, or 28 CFR 20.33, mentions nothing about it being void for use for immigration purposes either.

And even though Apostilling the document isn't available for Canada, certification through the U.S. State Department certainly is, which you'd think would then make these letters`good enough' for CIC.
