Reasons to make believe CIC that they will not turn their temporal visit to a permanent one.

Anything like a pension, property, commitments, etc.

Each case is different.

You will have to think of a way to prove CIC that you are not trying to get your parents to live with you permanently.

Hi

This means that CIC believes that your parents have stronger family ties in Canada than they do in their home country and thus are a risk to overstay.

i agree with canuck. there must be reasons for CIC to belive that your parents have stronger family ties in canada than they do in their home country. go through all the application package again and see how many documents attached were/are canadian and how many were/will be from their home country.
Canadian Side documents (which are forsure a negative impact and a red flag. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL)
1) financial documents of the person living in canada whom the applicant is visiting.
2)pay or job proof of the person living in canada whom the applicant is visiting.
3) Very decorated so called sponsor letter which is notarized and equipped with stories. (they never asked for it rather they ask for a simple invitation letter and logically a father or mother does not need a too much over drafted letter to visit his/her son)
4)property documents of the person living in canada whom the applicant is visiting
5) Medical reasons to visit and help them proved with documents from the person living in canada whom the applicant is visiting.
etc.etc....etc

who is the applicant? <--- this should always be remembered and in my opinion is the key to a visit visa
Applicant Side Documents ( forsure carry a far more weight than the above mentioned documents no matter how weak you think these docs are)
1) bank statement of the applicant or of the person with whom he/she lives ( wife, son etc)
2) source of income. (if the applicant is doing nothing still he needs money to live. the source can be from the relative with whom the applicant lives, a business, a job, or even a business of a relative(son/daughter) with whom he lives. in some countries many activities/jobs/monthly income and income sources are undocumented but still it is worth just mentioning them.
3) Property documents of the applicant (my opinion on this document is also negative or i think it is a useless documents unless you are getting some income from it).

THE MORE DOCUMENTS ATTACHED THE MORE SUSPICIOUS IT LOOKS. simple few and straight forward documentation is better to avoid red flags.

Some of the above points i mentioned may not be valid or true in your case. but just for a general and overall view and with an intention to help i hav posted them.
I hope your parents gets the visa when they apply and enjoy being with you.
Hope it helps. and get blessed spending time with your parents soon.

Generally speaking, the following will give you a brief picture what CIC wants to see in order to issue a visit visa:
1. Paying job (full-time preferred)
2. Other source of income (business, pension, investment etc.)
3. School enrollment (full-time preferred)
4. Fixed assets that need constant maintenance/caring (i.e. house, apartment, other facility etc.)
5. Other children or grandchildren (especially if they are under-aged and need caring)
6. Any other valid commitment to home country

You have to find what best suits for your parents. Other things that strengthen visa application:
1. Strong bank balance (liquid assets)
2. Properties (fixed assets)
3. Strong travel history w/o any overstay (especially to North America or Europe)

Hey, i am in the same boat, i am planning to apply for my parents in Feb and want seniors to advise here as well, below are my situation.

1. my parents does not have any property and income.
2. they have one daughter (married with three kids)
3. my mom has 5 siblings (4 living the same country)
4. but the interesting part here is which might be different from you that my family (wife and three kids) are living with them, although they are landed immigrant but i sent them back after 1 month of their landing.

My plan is to bring my family here once my parents will get the visit visa otherwise I will go back but i am not gonna tell this to CIC.
