My sister applied for a family sponsor 4 years ago for my parents and they recently received a letter from Singapore (thats the closest immigration office from Bangladesh who deals with Canada Immigration) asking for medical exams, Police clearance and all that bollocks..

My father is over 71 years old and have no way can contribute to any economy, rather become a burden of Canadian goverment. in this time of austerity, exactly what kind of SCAM Canadian government running?

Does anyone know? Or is it just a way Canadian govt making some bucks in the process.

Not sure what you mean by scam.

As long as your father is relatively healthy and passes the medical (as well as the police check) - he'll qualify for PR. Doesn't matter that he's not going to be working when he arrives.

Your sister should go ahead with the paperwork. CIC is no longer accepting parent and grandparent sponsorship applications as of November of last year.
