So guys my husband did the interview and it all went well but one thing was a concern for the officer and thats the fact the marriage was by proxy because i went back to canada before the marriage certificate was issued back in 2008 so she sent an email giving him 30 days to reply

The email was written exactly like this

In your application you stated that your sponsor was not physically present when your marriage contract was signed on month, day, 2008. And that your marriage was performed by proxy, with your father acting on your sponsors behalf. As your marriage was performed by proxy and your application was submitted later than June 10, 2015, your marriage is not legally valid for the purpose of immigration to Canada.

"before rendering a decision i am providing you with an opportunity to respond to my concerns. please submit any evidence, proof or information you would like to alleviate my concerns above within (30 days). please note you are only required to submit a reply by one method. Please be sure to include your file number."

I understand the law cant be broken, she gave us a last chance for redemption or are we doomed at this point?

What can we do in this regard... we dont know how to respond to it.

Louisa.

Sorry, but you got it, you're doomed, no way they'll accept a bogus marriage by proxy

We already have birth certificates with my husbands name on them but they never asked for them to be submitted... i will have him send them with other supporting documents.

If marriage by proxy is invalid according to immigration, cant we get married again by civil marriage with both of us present? Since our original marriage was religious... this should alleviate the officers concern as the marriage is then deemed valid?
