Family Class Sponsorship - CPC Mississauga and the RPRF

On January 7, 2011, the Detroit office which is processing our application sent a request to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga asking that they contact the sponsor (me) to remit the Right of Permanent Residence Fee. When they have received confirmation from the CPCM that the fee has been remitted for this case, they expect to be able to send "Ready for Visa" instructions to us.

My main question is why can they not tell I have already paid the RPRF? I paid it upfront with the application fee. And how long will it take Mississauga to figure this out / contact me so I can tell them? We're losing thousands of dollars in lost income. My wife has an excellent job offer we can't do anything about till this is resolved.

they can't tell because you paid the fee to mississauga, not to detroit. mississauga, i believe, should just be forwarding them the confirmation that you paid the fees. have you tried calling and asking anyone? i personally paid my fees after they asked for them, and i had to send them to mississauga which had to then send confirmation to buffalo.

Did you include a copy of the official receipt when you submitted your application? I would resend a copy of the receipt to Mississauga and a copy to Detroit, with your immigration file number attached.

I believe so but it was last June when we sent the application so I can't remember for sure. I'm about 90% sure I did though. Detroit said it could take 6 weeks just for Mississauga to confirm receipt of payment. They are supposedly sending me a letter about it but I can't imagine they would do that if they know I've already paid. Do you suggest sending copies again anyway?

You would hope! But this is immigration we are talking about - they seem to really like to drag things out..
