I am a canadian citizen living in Rome as a PhD student. I have lived with my common law partner for the last 3 years. My PhD ends in September 2011. My partner and I would like to move to Canada thereafter.
My partner is italian. I would like to know what you think is the best option to obtain a permit for him to come to Canada with me and be able to live and work there. I have downloaded the applications to sponsor him as a permanent resident. Is there a different way with a higher acceptance rate to get him into Canada with me in September? What is the likelihood of our application being successful?
