Family Class Application - is my spouse living "in" our "outside" of Canada?

Hello! I am a Canadian citizen, and I married my US-citizen spouse in May. She has always lived in the USA. In June, after our honeymoon, we drove into Quebec where I am living. She has no temporary resident visa or anything like that, she is here without any status. All of her documents (passport, driver's license, etc.) have her US address on them, where she is still receiving mail.

We are trying to apply for permanent residence in Canada, and would like to apply out-land, because:

1. She does not need an open work permit while we are applying
2. We want to be able to leave Canada while the documents are being processed
3. I have read that it may be a little faster

So the question is: since she is here, would we apply as "currently living in Canada", even though she has nothing to prove it?

Do you mean June this year or June last year?

If June this year, then she does in fact have status (visitor status).

If you look at the instructions carefully including mailing instructions, it will eventually become clear, eg here: "Note: Choose this option if your spouse or common-law partner is living in Canada with you, but you have chosen to use the overseas sponsorship."

You can just tell the truth that spouse is residing with you in Canada - at your address - temporarily and has no supporting docs for that because temporary. Won't need to prove address.

If you feel necessary, write a short letter explaining.

We were married in May 2021 and drove in from the USA in June 2021. Sorry - I guess I probably used a technical term accidentally when I said that she is here "without status". You are right: she is a visitor; and has no record on file beyond what the border guard might have written down / the fact that her passport was scanned. By status, I meant: no temporary resident visa or stamp in her passport, no papers or anything like that.

Does this mean on form imm0008enu, question 10 we should say her "Current country of residence" is Canada > Visitor? If so, when do we put as her "To" date?
