Hello

I am an applicant for permamnent visa for Skilled Workers/Professionals.

I will be landing in Canada in February 2011.

I am planning to move to Canada 3 years after landing. So I will be living for 2 years instead of the 3 years required to claim the Canadian citizenship. once my permanent visa expires on the end of the 5th year I will be able to apply for renewal for 5 more years.

QUESTION: Do the 2 years that I will live in canada count towards claiming of the citizenship. In other words, How long do i have to live in Canada ,after the renewal of my expired permanent residence visa, before I can claim my citizenship. is it 1 year ? or the 2 years that i have lived in canada prior to my first visa expiry do not count , and in that case I will have to live for 3 more years after getting my visa renewed?

Thanks

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
U have to reside 3 yrs continuous, or the same in broken pd - within rolling 4 yrs, for being eligible for citizenship.

Also to retain PR you need to be there 2 out of 5 years. its better if you leave more than 2 years time at then end so that you might have some time to go out and return to canada incase you have to.
