Extending Post-graduation Work Permit

Dear all,
I need some help. I got my post graduation work permit for 2.5 years (instead of 3 years), till the date my passport expires. Now I am in the middle of my PR application, and I would like to keep my PGWP valid until I obtain my PR. Is it possible to apply for the remainder of my post-graduation work permit (those lost 6 months)?. Or, I totally lost those six months, since PGWP application is a one time thing? Please help.. it is very urgent. Yes, I have renewed my passport now. thank you very much, frontenacs

You should have no problem extending your work permit for 5-6 more months.

1. If your passport expires before the expiry date of PGWP, you can apply to extend your PGWP until the end of your PGWP eligibility.
