Hi there,

I am going to have my wife's PR application processed at the Tokyo office; and if everything goes smoothly, the current estimated time is 9 months, i.e. September 2011

My wife is currently in Canada on a visitor's visa, which expires March 2011.
She has to go back to Japan in Feb 2011 for a family matter for 2 weeks or so.

In this case, would she get a new visitor's visa the 2nd time for another 6 months ? (meaning from Feb 2011-Aug2011)
Could she just say that I (her husband) is in Canada and she came to visit me when she enters Canada the 2nd time ?

I am just worried if they'd give her a 2nd visitor's visa for 6 months.

Please let me know as I'm rather worried and don't want to do anything wrong that could affect her application.

thank you

Her outland PR application would not be affected, even if she was refused entry to Canada - but coming to a Canadian port of entry alone and reporting that she has a husband in Canada (and a PR application in process) could get her turned back. She has to be able to prove that she does not intend to stay in Canada permanently - so she should carry a return trip itinerary, and proof of ties to home. If you are accompanying her, you can speak on her behalf and ask that she be allowed to remain with you while the PR ap is processing. Normally, with proof that you've actually applied, proof of your legal marriage and proof that you have means to support her, they'll document her (again) on a Visitor Record that you can apply to extend from within Canada if it's due to expire before her PR is approved.
