My visitor status is due to expire in just over a month. I need to apply to extend my status asap. We plan to do this online on the CIC website. However, they request proof of financial support. My husband is Canadian and works here... he is currently sponsoring me as his spouse and providing for me financially. How can I prove that he is my financial support? I don't have any funds in my own account as my husband takes care of me. What kind of documentation will they expect? I am a little worried. Please advise. Thank you

I'm the sponsor, the same situation for my husband, we sent a copy of letter of employment (mine of course), a couple of pay stubs and a little note saying that being me the one supporting him until he gets OWP, the proof of financial support is the "sponsor's employment"... We did it 3 times, no problems at all, and now he finally got PR.

Don't worry... is not such a big deal...

I sent a letter from hubbys employer and a bank statement. A letter from sponsor would be good too. Good luck! Should be fine...but I worried too. I will have to redo mine in July....lol and I will be stressed then too. ;D

( pray I will be landed by then...but you never know)
