Hey all,
My girlfriends IEC visa expires Dec 15 and she is wanting to extend it by removing medical restrictions. (she is a German registered nurse but we think she can work here as a health care aid and stay in Canada a little longer).
We are wondering if she can indeed extend it using this option and if they will likely approve the extension. It seems this is the only way she can actually extend her IEC because she is a nurse back home and no other extension options apply to her. It application and medical exams to do this costs a fair amount (around $500) and so we don't want to waste money if this option wont work to keep her in the country and making money.
We are assuming that if she can remove the medical restriction and extend the IEC then she can just extend her health insurance plan according the new expiry date of IEC.
Does anyone know anything or have any experience with this?
thanks
