Extend your stay as visitor - forms IMM 5707 and IMM5708

Hello,

I am gathering the documentation to be sponsored by my canadian husband, but in the meantime I have to apply to extend my stay in Canada, as a visitor, and while in the process of filling up the forms IMM5707 and IMM5708, I have encountered a couple of difficulties for which i'm asking for your help.

1. In form IMM 5707:
- i am asked to provide my signature, but it is not possible to sign in the requested fields...am i missing something?


2. In form IMM5708:
- I am asked about my current occupation, which is none atm, and then I am asked to chose country. It really is not applicable because i am staying in Canada and not working ,so I shouldnt have to chose a country. What shall I do? I am thinking about choosing Canada because it is where I currently am..

- I am asked to provide information regarding my employment history for the past 10 years,however they provide only 3 "boxes" for filling up with my activity. It happens to be that in those 10 years i have worked in more than 3 places. What can I do? is it ok to show only the most recent places i have worked at?

I see that you have posted this twice, but since this post is your most recent one...

When does your current visitor status expire?

Are you submitting an Inland or and Outland application? The latter can be submitted even if you are in Canada and may be faster to process.

Do you still have ties back `home' (i.e. a place where you would call home if you returned, today)? If you are truly `visiting' Canada, you must have ties elsewhere.

Not sure about the country you are referring. Are you talking about home and mailing address?

If they ask for 10 years, provide 10 years if you are able. You may submit a letter as well and mention it if you need more than 3 boxes.

I have entered Canada in August 4th 2022, with an ETA ( im from an EU country), so it will expire by February 4th 2023.
We got married early october, but the marriage certificate required to be sent with the sponsorship application is not ready yet, so we haven't started the sponsorship application yet, but in the meantime I have to apply to extend my stay, and coming accross the IMM form 5707,noticed It is not possible to insert my signature where it is requested to do so.

We are considering submitting inland application, because I am living here with my husband.

I was living with my parents back home, at their place, and still have some of my things there .

Portugal is a beautiful country! Yeah, I would say selecting "Canada" would be a better option for you. Good luck

I need your help again:

- after printing the IMM5707 in order to sign it i realize it will be more than one page, and IMM5707 has to be only 1 file in order to be uploaded....i dont know how to do it.....how does everybody combine the scans of several pages into 1 single file to be uploaded?

You can download pdfsam. It is designed to merge pdf files for you. Once you write the letter, print it to pdf. Then, use pdfsam to merge the files for you into a single .pdf. You can upload the pdf file generated.
