Extend visitor status or apply for study permit for my dependants?

hello.

I have a study permit and arrived Canada with my 2 kids. They have visitor visa, so since they arrived Canada with me they have been with visitor status. Their 6 months period is going to expire soon, so I have to extend their stay. However one is in primary school and the other is in pre school. The first question for the application is; what is the purpose of your visit? I am not sure if selecting "visiting Canada for more than 6 months" applies to their case since at least the older is studying. Under this condition 1...Do I have to apply for a study permit for my kids? Or it is feasible to select " visiting Canada" and then use the term " student" as their ocuppation?

I live in quebec. If it is a fact that they must apply for a study permit, 2 will they have to request a CAQ of quebec first? And 3. Should I Answer that they have been accepted by a DLI ( designated learning institution?

They don't require study permits. You can apply for visitor extensions.
