can anyone tell me how long it usually takes to complete the whole process after getting ITA?

if i send in my application as soon as i get the ITA, what are the next steps and how long does it take for the whole process to end?

really need to know as i've to take some crucial decisions based on this timeline :-[
12 days to 6 months (or even more).

After submitting the ITA, a certain member "Harry20" received his PPR in 12 days. Others are waiting months after "Medicals Passed" with no updates! So, it depends on the application and the VO - There is no general wait time.

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
i updated my job bank with new EE profile,
now it says job bank registration pending.

how long will it take to update my profile?

Hi Abhinav,

As far as immigration process is concerned, consultancies are not needed as the process is not complex. You will get answers to most of your questions on this forum. I am not sure how helpful Immigration consultancies are in terms of finding you a job. I am confident that the difference will not be significant if not zero.
Hi Joel,

Thanks for your response. So would you suggest that I start the immigration process on my own and when it comes to job search in the Job Pool and I face any difficulties in job search for myself or for my spouse, in that case only I seek help from any consultancy ?

Also I would like to know that how to prepare for IELTS exam and should this be my first step before thinking about immigration?

TIA,
Abhinav Agarwal

Yes of course!!! No need to hire consultants! It's a relatively straightforward process

You can do it on your own. I can tell you with full confidence that this forum is the holy grail for people looking to move to Canada!

As far as the jobs are concerned, it is extremely difficult to get a job when you have not yet landed in Canada! Employers will not be willing to go through the cumbersome process to sponsor a foreign worker who has not yet landed there. Consultants will say they'll get you a job offer but from what I know, it is extremely unlikely.

You can start preparing for IELTS. I suggest you to work towards getting a CLB-9 (8 in L and 7 in the rest). This will give you a high CRS score. You should also start your ECA process if your education credentials were gained outside Canada!

Feel free to ask any questions you might have!

Good luck and all the very best!!

Hi Expert Guy.

I am glad I have applied for EE. But now when I try to make an account in Job Bank , after entering EE number and Job Seeker Number there is an error saying "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later, and if the problem persists, contact the Job Bank Team. "

I am getting this answer since start and till now no success.

Please help!!!

Further I got a message from CIC what does it mean

""You must get confirmation of your nomination, register for Job Bank, or update your profile with a valid
job offer within 30 days. If you do not, your Express Entry profile will expire and you will not be
considered for permanent residence in Canada.""

Thanks ,

Both CIC website as well as job bank have been working intermittently today, probably because of some maintenance. Try to register with job bank tomorrow or day-after and it would work.

In your case, you would need to register with job bank within 30 days of creating the EE profile. Otherwise, it will expire and you'll have to recreate your profile.

Thank you Rajanvnv , I really appreciate your prompt reply.

I am still bit confuse on this = " update your profile with a valid job offer within 30 days. If you do not, your Express Entry profile will expire ""

How can I get JOB OFFER within 30 days like I will start applying but is it possible to get job offer with in 30 days ?

You don't have to update your profile with a valid job offer. The crux here is, you must link your job bank and EE profile within 30 days of the creation of EE profile.

You would have a "New Message" in your myCIC account that mentions your EE profile number and your job seeker code. You must key in these details in the job bank page and when you do that, your EE profile and job bank gets linked!

Good luck!

1) I am not sure if you can do that (though I remember seeing some post on the forum that said it can be done).
2) 8-24 hours usually. May take eve a little longer! Give it some time!

Thank you so much RAJ for clarification.

Further I am still getting the same answer from JOB Bank website and unable to create an account on Job Bank. Is anyone having the same issue or I am only facing this issue ?

When I enter my EE # and Job Seeker Code and press continue I get this error = We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later, and if the problem persists, contact the Job Bank Team. ""

If anyone else is facing the same issue then it is generic , If I am only facing this then I guess I am doing something wrong.

Thanks in Advance.

Hey

I am new in group and applying to express entry program. I need your kind support to successfully file my application.

First and foremost I would like to thank valuable step by step instruction. It really helped me a lot to follow process systematically.

I need further help in my ECA application. I am applying to express entry program with my spouse and I am principal applicant so I would like to know if I need to process ECA application for certification for both me and my spouse or only for myself.

Both of us are PHDs so I believe her qualification will help in my composite score for express entry.

Please advise ASAP.
