Hi,

I am preparing documents for an OINP nomination. My wife is the primary applicant. She has a total work experience of about 13 years out of which we have declared only the 6 relevant years in the EE profile and the NOC was based on the same. The other experience is not in line with the NOC so we have not declared it in the EE profile. Now when we are preparing her resume, do we remove that experience or still keep it even though its not in line with the NOC.

Please suggest.

Thanks

Hi Friends,

My wife has a Master's degree which is a Canadian equivalent of a Bachelor's degree (4 years)
Will she get credit towards 2 degrees (Bachelors and Masters) or only one as the Canadian equivalent is Bachelors.

Please help!!

What does her Bachelors assessment say? If it has been assessed, then you can select 2 or more degree where at least one is three years or more.

I have not done the assessment yet, but used the WES free evaluation tool, if I enter both Masters and Bachelors degree, it gives me two results and both are Bachelors with one 3 years and other 4 years.

If I enter on Masters then it gives me only one evaluation, Bachelors (3 years).
I think it should be 2 degrees.

In my opinion, if the Bachelors you are referring to was not done from Canada, then that also should be assessed by WES to get points for '2 or more degree where at least one is three years or more'. But on a second thought, you may be right. Let's see if anyone else has faced a similar situation.

If I can apply for 2 degrees then my CRS jumps to 454, if it is Bachelors then it is 422, lot of difference.

You are mixing up Express Entry CRS score calculation (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp#a1) and CIC FSWP score calculation (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp).

Use the first link to calculate your CRS score, you will get scores for Skills Transferability Factor (up to max of 100 points).

Yes, you will get more points if WES assesses your Bachelors as Bachelors and the diploma as a diploma/certificate, which will give you the option of '2 or more degree where one is at least 3 years or more'.

Hi,

As a student I went to different conferences, Should I list that as business in my travel history ? I was not making money there, just attending meeting.

Thanks

Hi Everyone,

I am applying for OINP nomination and I have the following doubt regarding submission of documents relating to education:

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma Certificate from Humber College and a Bachelor's Degree from India (ECA report for Bachelors- WES). In the documentation checklist, it says they need sealed transcripts for the Canadian degree, now since I have a diploma, am I supposed to send sealed transcripts. Please advice. Thank you!
For your Canadian diploma, check this --->

If you have a Canadian degree, provide the following documentation:

A certified true copy of your degree granted from an academic institution in Canada;
AND
Official transcripts submitted by you in the original sealed envelope from the academic institution in Canada that granted the degree
Page 10 of the application guide.

OINP requires at least a Bachelor's degree and anything above it/in addition to it is fine, IMO. So, since you have a diploma from Canada and a Bachelor's degree from India, I hope you are claiming points for 2 or more degrees. Hence, you might have to submit both the ECA for your Bachelors and documents pertaining to your Canadian diploma.

If you need to claim points for 2 or more degrees, then you need to get both the degrees assessed.

Your ECA report might say something like this :

Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's(3 years) and Bachelor's(4 years).

So if you get both the degrees assessed, you can claim points for 2 or more degrees. Masters degree from some universities are evaluated as being equivalent to a Canadian Bachelors only. Can't help it.

That is super cool Raj. Will loose some precious points because Canada will not consider Masters, however the good news is that we can apply for 2 degrees. Will loose 7 points.
