Hello All,

What's considered foreign work experience?

I am an Indian Citizen who did Masters from US and been working in US for past several years. Does my job experience in US count as foreign experience with respect to Express Entry?

Yes. Any experience gained outside Canada in NOC 0/A/B is foreign work experience that can be used towards gaining points under EE.

I was under the impression that foreign work experience is the experience gained outside the country of nationality.

I received my ITA on 13th July 2015. All the documents are ready however I am facing an issue with the reference letter.

I have been working for an MNC in India for the last 5 years. When requested for the reference letter with all the roles and responsibilities mentioned, the HR said that as per company policy they can only provide a bonafide letter on company notepad saying that I am an employee since 2010 and my business title.

However they will not be able to provide a detailed description of the roles and responsibilities on the company letter head.

I contacted my manager and he agreed to provide a detailed reference letter on normal paper but on company letter head.

The HR suggested as an alternative i should scan the bonafide and the managers detailed letter together and use accordingly.

However the document checklist says: letters must be on 1)company letterhead 2)signed by responsible supervisor 3) postions held 4)roles and responsibilities in detail etc.

I am not sure what to do. This is the last week i have got and need to decide fast. Request your able guidance and advice!!

Out of the topic question. I want to post a topic on this forum but I could not find the post button anywhere.
I tried searching the help menu and got the answer that it will be on the top and bottom along with <<reply<<notify<<sendtopic<< etc but there is no post button there.
Can any one please help me with the procedure. I think I am missing something but am able to get it.

Your spouse has to necessarily be a part of the application unless you're separated.

The HR alternative can work. Get the reference letter signed by your Manager and then get it notarized to vouchsafe for its authenticity. Upload the notarized document along with HR letter and an LOE wherein you can highlight the fact that you were forced to use this workaround because your HR has a policy of not providing reference letters on request (attach an email refusal from HR to your request, if possible) and politely request the officer to consider your application as complete.

This is my last week for submitting my online application and I'm stuck with some questions...
PLease help...
1. My spouse doesnt have any canadian work exp and thus i have not claimed any points under it. But, in the online application, it asks to upload his work experience docs and is marked as "required". Is it mandatory?
2. Do we have to upload digital photos which was taken within 6 months? Does the digital photo requirements mentioned under " http: // www.cic.gc.ca / english / resources / tools / perm / express / intake-complete.asp" applicable for online photos to be uploaded as well?
3. For proof of funds, I have a FD receipt. Is it sufficient to upload only that? Or are the 6 months activity report on my savings account is needed as well?
4. LOE - is there any format? Should we write all the explanations for different heads such as for spouse US police clearance certificate, not providing work exp doc in required format etc in one letter and upload?

For now, Yes. If you edit their Work history section and remove their experience from there, this requirement will disappear. You can choose to submit an LOE explaining your rationale behind removing their work experience (that it gave you no additional points).

Preferably a recent photo. If CIC has any concerns on this front, they will simply ask you to submit another photo.

Does the FD receipt convincingly prove that these funds are not borrowed? If yes, nothing else is needed. If not, you have to give evidence of that fact. If the FD has been held in your name for more than 6 months now, that is conclusive proof that these funds are not borrowed (for CIC, at least).

4. LOE - is there any format? Should we write all the explanations for different heads such as for spouse US police clearance certificate, not providing work exp doc in required format etc in one letter and upload?

No specific format. Address it to CIC/The Officer/To whoever it may concern. Recommend that you include every LOE in its own section along with the documents there (scan them as one pdf file). In the LOE section, upload a meta-LOE where you index all the sectional LOEs.

- I did 3 years diploma and joined in BTech 2nd year as Lateral entry. Do I need to evaluate both Diploma and BTech Certificates?
- I am including my spouse in the application. She completed MPharmacy. is WES required for her educational docs. If so, both BPharm and MPharm or Only MPharm certificate evaluation is sufficient.

Can anyone please clarify.

1) If you have completed a diploma, you might be eligible for "2 or more degrees...". Use the WES equivalency tool to check.

2) If you are claiming points for your spouse's education, you have to get her degree evaluated as well. Generally, ECA report is obtained for the highest degree only. In case WES asks her to send both Bachelors and Masters certificates, then she might have to send both.

I am currently living in Abu Dhabi soon going to UK on a visit visa for six months... If I am selected in pool during this period or being nominated by any province is it possible that I can apply from UK for me and my wife as she is already there (student)??
