Hi Everybody,

I have been a silent member of this forum for quite some time now. Thanks to all for the helpful info!!!!

Ok, now for my ordeal... My wife and I created our profile in January and since then we have been working on "upping" our score (new IELTS, ECA, etc). Yesterday I upgraded our profile after we got a new IELTS score (CLB 9 across the board) and something really weird is happening... The sum of ALL CRS factors is equal to 470 points, but the OVERALL SCORE displayed is of only 445

I triple checked everything... and unless my score is updated in the next 24 hours I may stay out of the next draw, for which we have a great fighting chance.

I can put a screenshot here as soon as I figure out how to do it... It is insane!!! On my profile page, under "Profile Details" it shows the following:

Federal Skilled Worker-----------Met
Provincial Nominee Program-----Not Met
Canadian Experience Class-------Not Met
Federal Skilled Trades------------Met
Overall Score----------------------445
CRS - Human Capital - Age-------80
CRS - Human Capital - Level of Education------112
CRS - Human Capital - First Official Language Proficiency-------125
CRS - Human Capital - Second Official Language Proficiency-----0
CRS - Human Capital - Canadian Work Experience ---------------0
CRS - Spouse - Level of Education----------8
CRS - Spouse - First Official Language Proficiency ----------20
CRS - Spouse - Canadian Work Experience----------0
CRS - Skill Transferability - Education-----------25
CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience----------50
CRS - Skill Transferability - Certificate of Qualification---------50
CRS - Arranged Employment-----------0
CRS - Provincial/Territorial Nomination------0
Express Entry Profile Effective Date-----3-January-2015
Express Entry Client Expiry Date--------3-January-2016

So, unless I am crazy and dropped 500 iQ points by dealing with CIC, adding the CRS I have would result on the following:

80 + 112 + 125 + 8 + 20 + 25 + 50 + 50 = 470!!!! and not 445 as my Overall Score says...

Any guesses on what's going on? I know sometimes the score displayed is not the correct one for a little while, but is over 24 hours now and it has not changed. Am I doing something wrong????

Thanks to all and keep strong!!!!!

You could delete your profile and start a new one tonight to be ready for tomorrow. I speak from experience when I say don't trust CIC's Express Entry software to ever update itself or work correctly

I am NOT AT ALL SURE about this, so go back and check, but off the top of my head I think the top number of points you can have for skill transferability is 100. You got 125, of which they allowed you 100 in your total score.... but like I said, you or someone else could contradict me, and I wouldn't be surprised!

That's the exact reason.

Hey Dobes and tszanon! Thanks for the replies.

I think you may be right. It is, very possibly, another one of those CIC "you're too qualified to come to Canada" things...

I guess unless the points drop below 450 I will be stuck.

Thanks

They will. I mean, we've already been to 453 twice, and you're only a few points away.... Good luck!
