Wow so I am in the pool , 1500 have already been invited , so there's only another 1500 in the pool . then my chances are good ?
This just refers to inaugral draw and since then many more would have entered in the pool. The chances will be higher when job match services would be deployed or CIC decides to conduct a special draw for CEC.

Thanks for the replies .

In my opinion there should be extra points for skilled shortage occupations , it was easier last year if your occupation was in demand . hopefully the point's come down dramatically . would it make sense that points may come down to 267 eventually ? Thats 867 minus 600 original point criteria?

This is my current EE profile status,

Federal Skilled Worker Met
Provincial Nominee Program Not Met
Canadian Experience Class Met
Overall Score 437

My PGWP expiring in Aug. What are my chances of getting an invitation before that and getting a bridging work permit? I have to request my employers to apply for LMIA, not very positive about it though (reading through all the discouraging experiences from different forum posts)

"Wow so I am in the pool , 1500 have already been invited , so there's only another 1500 in the pool . then my chances are good ?" - Where did you get this information from? Can you share the source please?

Thanks

First option: Have your employer to get LMIA for you. If it doesn't work
Second option: Wait for another couple of months to see if CIC decides to do something about CEC candidates. If that also doesn't happen
Third option: Move to another province, and get EE PNP asap.

Any other solutions?

Employer won't do LMIA

I can get transfer there so I can apply for pnp with valid job offer
Yeah that might not be such a bad option, it's the same with Nova Scotia. Do you know how the LMIA application would take to get a decision?

"Roughly 10,000 people applied for the inaugural draw and 3,000 were entered into the pool."
this clearly states that there aint a lot of people in that pool who are qualified. hence, the score might drop down pretty quick if the next draws intakes anything more than 779 candidates.

Almost 20% of the pool is currently in the spreadsheet. so we have a much clear picture of the next few draws atleast.
How do you know ss entries are all qualified?

Actually, we've been talking about this issue since the 1st draw in January, there is a myriad of topics on this board on the PGWP holders situation, the discussions are so heated that one of them was deleted. We've created a petiton that was featured in Globe and mail and on CTV.
https://www.change.org/p/citizenship-and-immigration-canada-candidates-on-open-work-permits-and-working-in-canada-need-more-visibility-in-express-entry-system

Other than that, what else can be done? Possible solutions:
1. Try to get a PNP or LMIA*
2. If you are not eligible for PNP and your company is not willing to arrange a LMIA for you, then try to find a new job, where they'll get you a LMIA
3. just wait until the score (hopefully) goes down
4. if you have the funds, go back to a university and apply for a Study permit

* I've heard on this board, positive LMIA was denied for 70% of all the LMIA applications, if your job is in NOC B category, it'll be very hard to get a positive LMIA. Also it takes up to 3-4 months to get it, as some say, if you get a EE specific LMIA, that's a bit faster but you won't be allowed to work after you WP expires and untill you obtain the PR status, which might take up to 6 months.

What esle can be done?

My WP expires in May and am going to start packing in April.

I applied under EE in January and I'll be in the pool until Jan. 2016. If I go back home, which means, I'll lose my current job, do I still have a chance to get ITA? In other words, will that fact that I've lost my job affect my current score?
