Express Entry LMIA-Exempt Current Job

Hi everyone,

I have been working in Canada under a work permit that is LMIA-exempt for more than a year in a NOC A job. I have filled the express entry profile and received a 'ineligible profile' three times and I don't understand why as I meet all the other requirements - language, funds, experience, age...

So I figured out that perhaps it is the way I fill up my profile. Possibly the fact that when I fill my profile I say that I'm currently working in Canada with a LMIA-Exempt Work Permit. Would that statement be correct?

I just want to apply without my employer, I know I'll lose 600 points but I just want to apply without. I feel I'm missing something important or filling improperly my application. Can anyone advice?

Thanks a lot!

Hi, I was also in the same situation. Working in an LMIA exempt job and I kept ticking it was my current job but nothing was updating. In the end I decided to write that it was not my current job and I filled in the "from/to" sections and voila! Everything updated!

Hey, did you read the message that CIC gives you?
I got a message with a pdf and the pdf told me to create a job bank profile and it was all sorted out then.. How many points do you have?

I indeed received a pdf but it's the typical pdf explaining that I must not meet the requirements for one of the reasons such as funds, experience, education, language, etc.

I don't know how many points I have since my profile isn't even taken into account - it's instantly deemed ineligible. Based on my own calculations I have enough points to be considered in both Skilled and Experience streams.

I must miss something or fill up my profile the wrong way.. I can't see how. Very frustrating :(

So you put your current job as not current but ending on a certain month? It wasn't problematic with the other section where you're asked to say if you currently work in Canada?

Hello,

Could you please update your situation now? Thanks.
I currently have a NOC A continuing job but LMIA-exempt. I had over 8 year working experience in the US before moving to Canada but no Canada schooling or Canada work experience. Now I am kind of frustrated with that EE/LMIA-exempt profile.

Hi, this is one of the flaws in the system. It only recognizes 'valid jobs' as being jobs that have an LMIA. I too am in your position and am working in my field under an LMIA exempt visa. What you should do is create a profile without including the job. Then register for job bank.

Once your EE profile is active, go in there and update the profile with your job details.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you, JoacRy.
I created EE profile once but it was ineligible due to the missing LMIA number, since then I did not try again. My WP is valid for 5 year so I though I had to wait longer to gain enough point.
My question is when I register for job bank, what will it provide you? does it connect to EE? will you get 600 points? Sorry, I have done a research on job bank yet. Can I register for job bank first?
Thank you so much.
