yes...that's what I am saying...the PCC issued was in June 2017....so technically I have a clear record till June. After that I visited India for only 3 weeks. Since I have been here in Australia I have visited India for a total of 130 days in 8 years...so was a bit confused...

Perhaps that word lived is what confuses you. They simply mean that in must be dated after the last day you were there.

PCCs are by far the number one reason for rejection so do not take any risks.

Who needs a police certificate?
In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate.

You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18.

For example: if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate.

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:

• are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
• have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.

CIC is not consistent in the 2 instructions. That's what causes confusion.
However, the instructions I have shared above is the one used in the completeness check of you application. So it is the safest to follow.

Hi, on average you are looking at 3 to 5 months.
Once you get PCC you must send passport within 30 days, then wait 2 or so weeks to get it back.

Hi guys, i need your advice..

1. If bank is not willing to provide bank letter as per CIC standard, is it sufficient if bank states that i am a client of the bank and that all transactions i have made are to their satisfactory? however, no mention of bank account number nor opening date and average balances.
I intend to also provide 6 months bank statement stamped.
2. How old can bank letter be? say my letter is dated 1st August and i submit my application early oct? will it be okay?

1)Get whatever letter they can give you then add you 6 months bank statements. Also make note of this in your LOE.
2) No, that letter will be too old. I would recommend that it be no older than 3 weeks on the date of submission. The fresher the better.

Hey fellow future Canadians...got a quick question and seek your help. My case is a bit complicated. I have a EE profile and getting my documents ready. I am originally from India and moved to Australia on a PR. I later surrendered my Indian citizenship and now I am an Australian national.As per CIC website we need a Police Clearance Certificate(PCC) from a country where you have stayed since 18 yrs old. In my case this would be India as I was still living there. But now I am an Australian citizen.
I have now been in Australia for 8 years. So as per CIC we need a PCC issued after you last lived in the country which in my case would be 2009. As per CIC requirement I got my Indian PCC done from the Indian Consulate Melbourne in June 2017as I am now a foreign national. My visits to India for a holiday on both my previous Indian Passport which is now cancelled as well as my current Australian passport in all these 8 years has not been more than 6 months. I had to visit India recently for only 3 weeks in August this year. Would I need to get a new PCC again from the Indian Consulate ? Getting a PCC from India for a foreign national is a nightmare.
Your help will be appreciated.

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure you would need a new Indian PCC. I don't believe the rule is 'after you last LIVED in the country'; it's 'after you were last IN the country' (as in visited, not just lived).

The PCC requirement isn't based on citizenship, so I don't think the fact that you've changed citizenship affects anything.

The requirement is based on trying to ensure the PCCs cover as much of your time in the relevant countries as possible. The reason you only have to provide a PCC that's less than 6 months old for the country you're living in, is because it wouldn't be realistic to ask for a PCC as at your last date in that country (you live there, so you would never be able to submit your application if you were trying to get a PCC that's dated after your last date in the country you're living in). So, for Australia, your PCC only needs to be less than 6 months old but...

But for India, your PCC needs to be dated after your last date in that country (so since you've been there in August, the June PCC can't work). You could have committed a crime in India (I'm sure you didn't but CIC doesn't know that) during your August vacation, and your June PCC wouldn't pick that up, so it's of no use to CIC.

My sister's first PR application was turned down because her US PCC didn't capture a week-long vacation she took to the US after the PCC was issued, even though she hadn't lived in the US for 6 years at that point.

Hi,

Current and Average bank balance are a standard requirement. So you will need a bank letter with both. The significant difference between the two figures won't be an issue as it will be accounted for by the gift deed and an explanation in the LOE.

Your best bet is to order GCMS notes. They will give an idea of what's going on.

Yap , they should have said the last time you set foot there. Would have made it clearer.

hello Seniors, Quick question.

I had created a EE profile without ECA and it got rejected (Profile Ineligible) Now i have ECA details and planing to put in a new EE Profile, in new profile they are asking if i had applied earlier and asking for some EE numbder if i am selecting YES.

Do i need to select YES and put in all the details (Dont know where are all details) or Shoild i put a No and submit profiles.

Pls clarify some of my doubts...

1. Should the gift be necessarily a FD or a cheque that can be collected in our SB acc will suffice???
2. 6 Months statement should be generated after getting ITA or should it be generated while creating EE???
3. Is it necessary to include 6 months credit card statements or a bank certificate indicating current outstanding debts will do???
4. last doubt (a big one .. pls bare with me) I am working for a bank. I have a salary SB which needs to be closed on my exit. So I've opened a new SB for POF this month. I am planning to create EE by Dec (afraid that rules might change next year) so if I get my ITA by Jan, I will have 5 months statement for the new account opened. Will there be a problem?? I am worried

No need for stamp paper. Just notarisation by Notary will do.
