Try using this: https://www.canadavisa.com/comprehensive-ranking-score-calculator.html

It is still a beta version due to the recent changes.

Cheers ;)

Can I show a joint account for proof of funds ?

Yes provided the joint accountholder (I am assuming it is your spouse) is accompanying you.

You will need to show it as a gift and get. Gift Deed executed for the same and submit it along with proof of transfer.

Hello
Is employment experience letter same as employment reference letter??

If you are asking from the CIC submission point of view yes it is, provided it had all the details required by CIC.

The Canadian equivalency for your degree is what is listed under Canadian Equivalency Summary.
So your qualification is equal to a four-year Bachelor's degree.

Hi Raj, etc all.

Firstly thanks so much everyone for providing a place that very confused people like me can go to get help and ask questions.
I'm at the initial stages of my application - Ive submitted my university degrees to UT for evaluation, according to website its 50% evaluated and have just received my IELTS score.

Yet to create profile and register with job bank due to the above.

Background:
Masters - Cardiff University, United Kingdom
Degree - University of Adelaide, Australia

Single, 30s, 12 - 15 years working in consultancy and Fortune 500s.

I was a bit disappointed with my IELTS score as I wasted alot of time with essay 1 vs essay 2 and had to rush to complete.

Reading - 9.0
Listening - 8.5
Writing - 7.5 (shocked!)
Speaking - 9.0

Overall: 8.5

Following the helpful advice here, I used the CRS tool and my score comes to 443. Whats the current cut off?

Questions based on everyone's experience here:
1) Should I retake my IELTS so I can redo my writing? Will this help in any way tho the highest band for the CRS tool under writing function is calculated from 7.5 to 10 so I just got in.
2) I'd like to try a provincial British Columbia application - I'm less than clear how I go about doing this despite the numerous postings? What do I look out for? Tips if any? Should I target this or wait for the points to drop? Does it drop?

Im slowly following the instructions here on application process via Express Entry. I'd like to get a job offer and I'm trying to farm out my CV
and/or target companies that offer sponsorship.

I know its a long journey and its only the beginning but seems very elaborate and confusing.

Thanks guys, yr the best.

The most recent cutoff was 472. The cutoff has never dropped below 450.

Each band of the IELTS is not scored in the same way. 7.5 in writing is CLB 10; 8.5 in reading is also CLB 10. Most people's writing scores are generally lower than their others.
You've scored CLB 10 in all areas; you cannot possibly improve your language score (unless you also take the French test), so retaking IELTS is pointless.

2) I'd like to try a provincial British Columbia application - I'm less than clear how I go about doing this despite the numerous postings? What do I look out for? Tips if any? Should I target this or wait for the points to drop? Does it drop?
It seems unlikely that the CRS cutoff will drop low enough.
Have you tried reading the application guide on the BCPNP website ?

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has revamped the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for its Express Entry immigration selection system. The changes, which had been expected for some time, will have a major effect on candidates for immigration to Canada through the three federal programs managed through Express Entry, namely the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Canadian Experience Class.

The new instructions on Express Entry, which were published in the government of Canada’s official Gazette, come into force on November 19, 2016.

The significant changes to job offers are:

A qualifying job offer is now worth 200 points if the offer is in an occupation contained in a Major Group 00 of the National Occupational Classification (senior managerial level position). These occupations are:
0011 Legislators
0012 Senior government managers and officials
0013 Senior managers – financial, communications and other business services
0014 Senior managers – health, education, social and community services and membership organizations
0015 Senior managers – trade, broadcasting and other services not elsewhere classified.
0016 Senior managers – construction, transportation, production and utilities
A qualifying job offer is now worth 50 points if the offer is any other qualifying offer of arranged employment.
Previously, qualifying job offers supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment were worth 600 points under the CRS. As of November 19, there will be new ways of being awarded either 50 or 200 points without the need to obtain a LMIA (though points will continue to be awarded to individuals with a new or existing LMIA). The new regulations also allow the following individuals to be awarded points for a qualifying job offer:

Individuals with a work permit issued under an international agreement, such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Individuals with a work permit issued under the ‘significant benefits to Canada’ criteria, such as Intra-Company Transfers.
In both above cases, the worker must have been working in Canada for at least one year and the job offer must be made by the same employer named on the work permit.
